The ground floor of the restored farmhouse offers private and spacious accommodation for both outside and inside living. There are 2 double bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms, newly refurbished kitchen/living room/dining room, further eating area and private patios. The property is surrounded by its own land and garden of olive, citrus, mulberry, fig trees through which you can walk and enjoy the countryside and views of the Cilento National Park. It is close to the villages of Laureana Cilento where there are two restaurants offering local cuisine and San Martino where there is a small grocery shop, 2 cafes and pharmacy. It is situated on a quiet lane which runs down to the town and port of Agropoli approx 15 mins by car. It is in a good location to reach Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius approx 1.30 hrs. Naples is 1.45 hrs. The railway station at Agropoli is 15 mins by car. The coastal villages of San Marco and Santa Maria di Castellabate are 25 mins drive.

Notes on prices
The prices listed are for 2 people (1 bedroom) and for one week. For each additional bedroom required the prices increase by 70 euros per week (per bedroom). Prices available for shorter stays.
Changeover day
Arrival after 4pm and departure before 10am.

Notes on accommodation
Each bedroom has air conditioning/heating and en-suite shower room. The bedrooms are located just off the front patio and have an interconnecting door. All accommodation is situated on the ground floor with separate entrance to the kitchen/living room/dining room.
Accessibility
There are uneven levels and some steps outside which may not suit people with mobility problems.
Outside
There is a private patio from where the bedrooms lead onto with tables and chairs for alfresco eating. There is a further side patio with sea view across to the Amalfi coast. There is sitting areas with hammock, tables and barbecue under the shade of the trees. You can take a country stroll on the owners land through the olive and citrus groves.
Coast/Beach
The closest beach is at Baia Trentova just outside of Agropoli 15 mins drive. There is a further beach at the 'lungomare' in Agropoli where there are restaurants, cafes and shops. There is a long sandy beach at Santa Maria di Castellabate which is 20 mins drive and further south are a string of long sandy beaches such as at Case del Conte and down to Acciaroli (one of Ernest Hemmingway's haunts) where you can enjoy a stunning coastal drive. To Acciaroli takes approx 45 mins.
Travel
The closest airport is at Naples (Capodichino) which takes approx 1.45 hrs to the apartment (120km). Car hire is essential and there are hire companies at the airport. Rome airport is approx 3.5 hrs drive or you can catch the train from Rome station to Naples or Agropoli. There is a small airport at Pontecagnano (Salerno) with flights in the summer months from Milan, Paris, Verona, Barcellona and Madrid. There are also 4 car hire companies which operate from there.
Distances
The closest villages are Laureana Cilento and San Martino - both approx 5 mins drive. There are many other surrounding medieval villages such as Rocca Cilento with its own castle, Vatolla, Rutino, Lustra all within 10 mins drive. The small town of Torchiara offers all local amenities and is 8km. Agropoli old town is worth a visit with its cobbled streets, stone buildings and 2 restaurants with views across the sea. The magnificent Greek temples at Paestum are 25 mins drive.
Further details
Further down the coast to Pisciotta, Palinuro and Sapri can be visited in the summer months by boat or at other times by car. There are boats that go to Positano, Amalfi town and Capri in the summer months and leave from Agropoli, Santa Maria and San Marco ports. Further into the Cilento National Park you can find Roscigno Vecchia which is an abandoned village, Gioi, the grotto at Castelcivita. Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius are easily reached by car approx 90 mins or there is a direct train from Agropoli which takes about the same time. There are plenty of activities in the area such as hiring of motor boats from Agropoli for a half or full day, diving, boat trips, quad biking, pony trekking, hiking, and cyling (not for the faint hearted!) Holistic treatments are available in a quiet treatment room only 5 mins drive from the apartment. It is possible to buy red wine, dried figs, preserves and olive oil produced by the owner.
