This is a good opportunity to enjoy an inexpensive holiday on a quiet farm in Tuscany with a superb private Swimming pool. The farmhouse is just outside the walls of the ancient village of Gragnanella, and has recently been built to a high standard using traditional materials. The property has been created within a small, traditional working farm. The lovely garden area features a large private pool, making this a peaceful, interesting place for a quiet holiday. The swimming pool is a superb 13x4 metres. Depending on the season the farm sometimes has organic produce available. The small village medieval village is traffic free, making it safe for children to play and explore. Tuscany is the most popular tourist region of Italy, famous for its wonderful climate, landscape, and art treasures. The famous 'art' cities of Florence, Sienna and Lucca are huge attractions, whilst the culinary tradition is there to be savoured.

Notes on accommodation
There is a 2 bedroomed apartment on the farm which can also be rented only with the main house, thus ensuring the pool and garden remains private.

There is a sheltered BBQ and outside dining area. There is a children's playground within sight of the farm. The owner will cook a meal to order.

We have links with an outdoor activities company who offer guided walks and climbing, mountain biking, canoeing and world class gorge walking.
Travel
Flights to Pisa Airport from several UK airports including Gatwick, Stanstead, Prestwick, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Leeds/Bradford and Manchester. Operators include Jet2, Ryanair and BA. Other destinations Genoa, Milan-Bergamo, Bologna.
Trains to Viareggio, Florence, then to Lucca and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. An English speaking mini-bus taxi can be arranged for airport pick-ups at a cost of 100 Euros e/w. It is also available for other excursions and local pick-ups.
Further details
The area is well known for its excellent value cooking, using the best of local ingredients. A typical set lunch with 4 choices of pasta course, and 4 choices of main course costs only 9 Euros inclusive of bread, wine and coffee. It is possible to have a multi-course traditional Sunday lunch or dinner with ample wine, coffee and liquors for less than 25 Euros.
Garfagnana is the best area in Tuscany for walking. We have links with an outdoor activities company who offer guided walks and climbing, mountain biking, canoeing and world class gorge walking. Local market town with good shops is only 2 miles away.
