Trullo San Marco is a delightful, recently restored traditional trullo with a pool, sleeping up to 12 people in 4/6 bedrooms (plus double sofa bed and cot). A magical property with the most amazing views over open countryside to the sea. It is on the edge of the little village of San Marco and also near fascinating old towns with good restaurants and only about 20 minutes from the sea. Providing a perfect solution for two families or a larger family or group. This is an unusual villa as although it is one complete property, it has a converted coach house with high barrel vaulted ceiling so is more spacious and lighter than trulli normally are. All the original features have been preserved. Good area for cycling (bike hire available) and walking. This lovely villa is situated in a small village in the countryside where you can buy fresh bread on a Sunday morning and is also near the larger town of Locorotondo (officially listed as 'one of the most beautiful small towns in Italy').

Notes on accommodation
You enter the house through the living room, which also has a double sofa bed in an alcove. On the right there is a large kitchen dining room, originally the coach house, with exposed beams and a sitting area with armchairs and a fireplace. There is also a bathroom with bath and a large family suite, comprising a double bedroom with interconnecting room which has a double day bed and a single sofa bed and a further room with a single bed and pull out single bed. To the left of the living room there is a further double bedroom, with inter-connecting room with double sofa bed, a bathroom, and a second kitchen opening onto a terrace. On the roof terrace (accessed by external stairs only), there is an additional sitting room/bedroom with A/C, spectacular views and a double bed.

Outside
Terrace garden with large table /chairs for outside dining under shady gazebo. large barbecue, traditional bread oven. Very private 8m by 4m pool with hot/cold shower. Plenty of sun loungers, two large umbrellas. Garden adjoins meadows, almond orchard and olive groves.

Coast/Beach
20 minutes drive to nearest beach. For beach lovers there are miles of unspoilt coastline, from rocky coves for snorkelling to long stretches of white sand with crystalline water.

Golf
20 minutes to golf course.

Travel
Nearest airports are Bari and Brindisi 50 minutes drive with flights from Stansted, (Ryanair) , Gatwick (BA) and Heathrow (Alitalia). Car hire is recommended.

Distances
Few minutes walk to local food shop / cafe bar and pharmacy. Just over half a mile walk to good, inexpensive local restaurant /pizzeria. Short drive to beautiful old towns like Alberobello (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Locorotondo, Cisternino, Martina Franca.

Further details
San Marco with a village shop/bakery, little bar, post office, pharmacy and doctors is a short walk away. A sports bar showing live premiership matches is 15 minutes walk away A good traditional restaurant is about 20 minutes walk. Locorotondo - one of Italy's officially recognised most beautiful small towns is 5km away. Cisternino, Martina Franca , Ostuni, Alberobello are also worth exploring as are the caves at Castellana, and the cave towns of Matera and Massafra about 45 min drive. For kids there is a Safari Park (Zoo Safari Fasano) and Theme Park (Fasanoland) about 15 minutes drive away. We supply notes on the area , resaturants , sights etc when you enquire.

50% deposit payable at time of booking, balance 60 days before arrival.
Weekly cleaning 100€ payable locally based on 8 people. From time to time there are special offers.
There is a security deposit of 250E payable locally which will be returned on checkout assuming no major damage or shortages.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
When we decided to buy a holiday home we thought long and hard about all the lovely places we'd enjoyed visiting and Puglia - especially the Itria valley came out top. Beautiful countryside, fascinating old towns, every kind of beach, food and wine and friendly people - it ticks all the boxes.

Unique benefits of the property
While its a beautifully restored old trullo house which oozes character it's also unusually spacious so that different family groups can spread out in their own parts of the house. Also, its one structure so that no one has to cross a courtyard to get to the bedrooms as is sometimes the case with larger trullo properties. The location is spectacular with views across olive groves and woodland to the sea. Despite the tranquility of the setting it's just a five minute walk to an authentic Puglian village with friendly generous neighbours, shops, a bar, a good restaurant/pizzeria and open-air Friday night dances in the school yard.
