The studio flat, approximately 24sq metres, is situated in the historical centre of the village. The village (Roman origin with medieval character), is located on the side of Mount Scalambra in the Ernici range facing south. Sightseeing to Fiuggi, Anagni (the town of Popes), Piglio, Paliano, Alatri, Altipiani di Arcinazzo, Fumone, Trevi nel Lazio, Vallepietra, Olevano Romano. Typical products are Cesanese wine, olive oil, Serronese doughnuts. Events during the summer are Nettare DiVino on 10 August. During the winter Natale a Serrone - Christmas in Serrone 23 December until 6 January. Nature walking, cycle path, trekking, or fly with hang gliding. Places to see include Church of St. Pietro (XII century), Hermitage of St. Michele (XI-XII century at an altitude of 1100 metres), the tower of Colonna, the Fountain of La Forma and the little church of St. Quirico. In 20 minutes you can reach "Valmontone Outlet Fashion District" and "Rainbow Magicland - amusements park theme Rome-Valmontone"

Outside
The studio flat is situated in the historical centre with a little green flower bed near the public square. The village is situated at an altitude of 730 meters on the south west facing slopes of "Monte Scalambra" which offers wonderful views to the green Sacco valley. There are many towns to explore nearby including Roma, Anagni, Fiuggi, Tivoli an Palestrina. From Serrone you can reach Romes underground station Anagnina in 35 mins by car.
Coast/Beach
The coasts of Sperlonga, San Felice Circeo, Sabaudia and Terracina are approximately 1½ drive away.

Ski areas located in the region include Campo Staffi and Monte Livata (50 minutes).

Travel
Rome Airports: Ciampino (Ryanair/Easyjet, Myair, Wizz Air) 45 mins. Fiumicino (BA/Alitalia, etc) 75 mins. A rental car is recommended for sightseeing and shopping. The train service to Roma Termini (central station) is quite frequent (every hour or so) and takes 50 mins for Colleferro train station. The house can be accessed from the motorway A1 (Rome-Naples) follow the exit of Colleferro (train station) or Valmontone about 20 mins.
Distances
North: Rome and Tivoli (50 mins), Orvieto (1½ hour), Spoleto and Assisi (2 hours and 40 minutes), Florence, (3 hours and 30 minutes), Pisa approx 4 hours and plus.
South: Sperlonga and 1Ό hour. Naples, Pompei 2 hours. Sorrento and Amalfi 3 hours plus. Abruzzo park 1½ hour.
Further details
Very close to the studio there is the main little square and the town hall, postal office, restaurant, pub, bar, tobacconist, grocery and butchers shop. In 20 minutes you can reach "Valmontone Outlet Fashion District" and "Rainbow Magicland - amusements park theme Rome-Valmontone" with opening in April 2011 (25 minutes).
Things to do: walking in the beautiful countryside, trekking, paragliding, cycling.
Things to see: Church of St. Pietro (XII century), Abbey of St. Michele (XI-XII century at an altitude of 1100 meters). The owner can provide a low-powered car. You can use it for short trips such as to visit the neighbouring villages or to go to the nearest railway station in Colleferro (20 minutes) from where you can easily reach Rome by train (in 45-50 minutes), Naples or any other city. You can agree upon the weekly rent prize with the owner.
On request the owner can carry out every day the transport service from the studio flat to the near railway station of Colleferro. The cost of the service is Euros 10,00 for gone and Euros 10,00 for return. For all guests coming from abroad a mobile phone will be available to keep in touch with the landlord without any additional charges.
Booking notes
A deposit of 50%, plus a refundable 100,00 breakage deposit is required upon booking. Balance payable 10 weeks before arrival date.

About the owner
I live and work at Serrone, a small village in the north of "Ciociarìa", at about 45 km from Rome. In my spare time I play the guitar, listen to music, go to the cinema, meet my friends or go to the beach.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
I bought a one-room flat about 5 years ago because as soon as I saw it I fell in love straight away with it. Its simplicity and its rustic character make it really unique and romantic as so many guests have already declared. Serrone´s quality is the peace and quiet of the country, silence and brightness, its height and huge spaces, the purity of its air, good food, the genuinity of its typical products, good wine and olive oil. At any time it´s possible to immerse oneself into history and culture offered by Rome and the other medieval towns in the neighbourhood.
Unique benefits of the property
Apart from its cheapness, the reason to stay in my one-room flat is that it offers the guests the chance to taste a simple and natural life made up of walks, pure mountain air and good food. The beaches at 80 minutes by car.
