Changeover day
Our rentals run Thursday to Thursday to enable our clients to take advantage of the budget airlines midweek prices and availability. Non Thursday to Thursday stays may be available. Arrival should not be before 4pm and departure should be by 10am.

Accommodation

Notes on accommodation
Casa Colcello is spacious and airy with ample space to relax and enjoy time together or separately. Guests find it a real home from home. Windows have fly screens and shutters. Central heating is newly installed and efficient, windows are double glazed. The kitchen is tiled with terracotta nd old hand painted tiles, opens on two sides to terraces and looks out toward the pool. A fully tiled bathroom with wet room shower is between the kitchen and lounge. The large comfortable lounge is a great place to gather, watch a film, plan tomorrow, or a cool spot to have a midday snooze or read a good book.
We have outdoor table tennis and outdoor games (chess, dominoes, snakes and ladders) as well as jigsaws, books and indoor games. Casa Colcello has proved to be a great venue for families and groups of friends alike. Most people find it hard to tear themselves away from the comfortable surroundings to visit all the interesting places nearby.

Outside
Large, private, secluded pool - 12m x 6m, regularly cleaned, well equipped with 10 sunloungers, umbrellas,and side tables. Benefits from the sun all day long making this the ideal place for the focus of your day. Outdoor lighting for a late dip or party by the pool.
Recently landscaped gardens. Near to the house south facing terraces with a mixture of hard landscaping in stone, gravel and grassed areas for sitting out which have been planted with buddleia, roses, sage, wild grasses, lavendar, sage, pomegranate, jasmin, geraniums, bouganvillia, thyme, cypress, box and many more wonderful mediterranean plants. Further away are ancient olive groves, natural woodland, and wild meadows. You may find figs, plums or blackberries and you may even see porcupine, eagles, buzzards or deer or hear the sound of a wild boar. You must spend at least some time star gazing - there is no light pollution here, on a clear night they are a spectacular sight.

Adriatic coast - approximately 90 minutes away.
Mediterranean coast - approximately 180-210 mins away.

Golf
We have an exremely acceptable 9 hole golf course and club 10-15 minutes away. Otherwise there is a very good 18 hole course west of Perugia (40 minutes). On our own website we have a dedicated guide for our recommended golf courses please contact us for details.

Special interest holidays
We can arrange for in house catering or home cooked food for your freezer. Casa Colcello is a great venue for small groups of like minded people for yoga, tai chi, bridge clubs, photographers, writer and artists, art lovers, walkers, bird watchers and more or as a corporate venue for a small group of executives. Or just for chilling out with a group of freinds in privacy space and comfort.

GIOELLO (5 km) - Nearest shop - Convenient food and wine store with all basic supplies as well as milk, cooked meats, cheeses, bread, pasta, fruit, and veg. Locals bar, Butcher, Garage (not petrol), pharmacy, dentist, tennis courts, play area.
SAN SECONDO (9 km) - Nearest small town - 2 supermarkets, 2 bars, bakery, butcher, newsagent, post office, bank with bancomat, hairdressers, dry cleaners, flower shop, play area.

CITTA DI CASTELLO (18km) - Nearest main town - is a wonderful medieval centre with winding street to wander where people have time to stroll and chat - you will find all shops, banks, supermarkets, street markets morning market held on Thursdays and Saturdays, concerts and shows, special festivals, galleries, ice cream shops - gelateria, cafes, restaurants, and thermal spa Terme Fontechio. Have a drink at one of the many pavement cafes, people watch, or just enjoy the evening passegiata.
The key attractions of Tuscany and Umbria are easily visited - Perugia, Assisi,Anghiari, Arezzo, Gubbio, Cortona Montone and Sansepolcro can be visited in under an hour. Florence, Siena, San Gimignano in 90 minutes. Ravenna Urbino and Chianti others. Watersports, beaches and boat rides to islands are available at Lake Trasimeno (1hr). You will find plenty to explore, discover and do locally. Try to see Piero della Francescas Madonna del Parto in Monterchi (only 25 mins) and other works at Sansepolcro, Arezzo and Urbino.

This is an area known for fields full of sunflowers, poppies, tobacco and wheat, olive oil, wine and truffles; hills and valleys of natural forest, folklore, ancient traditions. folklore, ancient traditions and gastronomy, superb light and air, Renaissance art and architecture.

Traditional and modern festivals are held throughout the summer - food, music, medieval tradition, crafts - Umbria Jazz is an international jazz festival held in July and December in Perugia and in nearby Montone they have a summer film festival.

Booking notes
A 20% non returnable deposit is taken on booking and a £50 breakages deposit is then taken with the final payment which is payable 6 weeks prior to your booking. 5% discount is available for bookings of 2 weeks or more. For the winter period central heating will be charged according to gas readings. Negotiable rates for long term and late bookings. Swimming pool operational May to first week in October.
