Come and experience a truly Italian village and lifestyle on the edge of the Abruzzo National Park and Maijella mountains, just 40 minutes south of Pescara. An ideal central location, with beaches 15 minutes, skiing 50 minutes, Bomba Lake 15 minutes, ancient villages all around. Excellent scenery and walking in try the gorge at Fara San Martino. The house has a large terrace, garden, amazing lounge and living area, 3 good sized bedrooms, bathroom on 1st floor, 1 cloakroom on 2nd floor, parking. Fab location and very central, situated at only 300m above sea level between the mountains and the Adriatic beaches, stunning views all round, 4 minute walk to local bar. 2 course meal approx 10-15 euros. Groups larger than 6 persons may be accommodated on special request.

Changeover day
Changeover is flexible and will try to accomodate where possible. Departure should be by 10am and arrival from 4pm, we will always try to accommodate flight times on request.

This is fantastically renovated property, maintained for personal use and comforts and all general household amenities are present.
Accessibility
Accommodation is on 3 levels, there are 2 internal staircases however there are 2 street entrances, giving direct access to both living area and sleeping/bathroom area.
Outside
There is a large terrace off lounge and a lower garden. Table, chairs, Sun Umberella, BBQ, child paddling pool.
Coast/Beach
Distance to the Trabocchi Coast with the unique fishing rigs only found in this part of Abruzzo 10-15 min drive. Fossacesia Marina and Abbey 15 minutes drive. Le Morge or Casalbordino Beaches 20-25 minutes drive. There are many other small secluded beaches.
Golf
Miglianico golf course is approx 30-40 minutes away.
Skiing
Passo Lanciano is 50-60 minutes by car. Roccarrasso is 50-60 minutes. Both have websites to check details/conditions.
Special interest holidays
Championship carp fishing at Lake Bomba. Mountain walking/hiking. Val di Sangro War Cemeteries, Sangro River and Moro River Canadian War Cemetery (approx 20 min drive). Historic villages and churches. Local festas.
Travel
Pescara is nearest airport, 40 minutes by car and is served by Ryanair and Air One. Ancona approx 2.5 hours again by Ryanair. Rome approx 3 hours. Car Hire is highly recommended to explore this amazing region.
Distances
Selva di Altino for larger shops and services 4 mins by car, Lanciano 20 mins, Casoli is 8 mins, Roccascalegna with its unique castle 5 minutes, Farra San Martino with gorge and mountain streams 15 mins, Lake Bomba with water sports, championship carp fishing, open air pool and children play area 10 mins - nothing is far away.
Further details
This is an ideal area on the edge of the Abruzzo National Park with a variety of activities. Beaches, Walking & Hiking, Fishing, Horseriding, amazing local churches and lots of history. Selva di Altino has all facilities, bank, larger supermarket, petrol, hairdressers, restaurants and so on. All surrounding villages hold fiestas and have points of interest, just simply explore. The key holder is English/Italian speaking and will assist if any advice needed. Electricity is included in rental costs.
Booking notes
£250 deposit per week required. The outstanding balance to be paid within 8 weeks of start date. Payment method can be agreed, direct to bank or pay pal (pay pal charge will be passed on to customer). A breakages deposit will be required of £150 and will be refunded after departure.

This property has been a major renovation project for mainly personal use, the renovation has generated much excitement locally and with visitors looking for ideas and to purchase for themselves. A truly interesting blend of old and new has been incorporated into this property retaining shape and character, you will love the ambience. Guest have a variety of tastes, some like the mountain villages and hiking inthe Abruzzo National Park, some like the beaches and some like the general exploring, there is something for everyone.

This is such an unusual and quirky property that my family and I just couldn't resist, my family live locally and have lovingly restored this property.
We all love Abruzzo and this property allows us and friends all to stay close by but also allows people like you to also experience this wonderful part of Italy.
We have enjoyed holidaying all over the world and fully understand what most people would like and expect when it comes to comfort and style in their holiday expectations. Our home in Italy reflects good taste and an understanding of people's requirements. We are always open to any suggestions to improve our home but think you will find it a pleasure to stay.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Altino is in a stunning central location with easy and close access to coast, mountains, skiing and the National Park. It has fabulous surrounding views, local services, leisure facilities.
Whilst the house is in a village location you will see from the pictures that the village surrounds a hilltop, you can enjoy village life but as the property is on the 'edge' you also enjoy stunning outward views and privacy.
In this area you will enjoy a truly Italian lifestyle of village festas, food, wine all at reasonable prices. The area is full of diversity, you can hike one day and swim in the sea the next, if you really wish you could do both in the same day, the area is quite unique in its varying opportunities.
