Accessibility
The Villa is not perfectly handicapped accessible, please let me know if there are people with handicaps in your party.Access to the villa is via a paved road three kilometers from the main road of Salaria and parking is available within the property grounds.
Outside
Villa La Tartaruga Sabina is situated in a lush 2-hectare garden surrounded by hundred-year-old olive groves, cypresses, cedars, orange, cherry, and lemon trees as well as a wide range of flowers. Outside the fenced garden, there are 24 hectares of open field. There is a very large private swimming pool (20m x 10m) with a diving board and private pool house with showers and a sauna. The pool is not fenced, one half side of the pool is deeper than 3 meters. There is a covered terrace with several tables, chairs, and seating arrangements with couches. Within the landscaped garden is a gazebo with a table and chairs as well as a barbecue and wood-burning oven.

Wedding Receptions: the Villa organizes wedding receptions and other special events (anniversaries, birthday parties, corporate events, etc.). Wedding ceremonies can be held in the Villa's Garden or at the nearby beautiful Medieval Princes Savelli-Torlonia Castle, located on top of a hill in the nearby town of Palombara Sabina (10 min drive). There are several very good Agriturismo restaurants in the area. Agriturismos are farming family-owned restaurants that offer genuine home-made home-grown food.
The nearest town is Palombara Sabina, a charming ancient town, 15 min drive from the Villa. Built on a hill at the foot of mount Gennaro and surrounded by olive and cherry trees typical of the region, Palombara Sabina has everything tourists may need: stores, restaurants, post office, hospital, etc. Of particular interest are the old town centre with the beautiful Savelli-Torlonia castle on the top of the hill, and the Abbey of San Giovanni in Argentella.
30 min drive from the villa is the town of Tivoli, famous worldwide for two of the most beautiful villas of the ancient Roman era and the Italian renaissance: Hadrian's Villa and Villa D'Este both part of UNESCO's world heritage sites.
25 min drive from the villa is the Abbey of Farfa, an ancient marvellous Benedictine abbey of the VIII century.

About the owner
My name is Giuseppe Micheletta. I'm from Rome, where I teach law and run the Villa business. I lived 6 years in New York City. My wife, Molly, is American, from Pittsburgh, PA. We live with our two children between Rome and the countryside villa. We like to have international guests at the villa. This is my family's countryside villa. My family has always nurtured and shared the pleasure of gathering with friends in the countryside for the family's most important festive occasions. It is in this tradition that my father built the villa in the early 1980's. An inspiring work of architecture, the three-story villa was designed by Gustavo Polimeni to evoke the lines and vision of the great American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
