The one bedroom apartment is located on the beautiful Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, in a private gated resort which is 150m from a picturesque beach. The apartment complex is new and the resort boasts two swimming pools, 2 floodlit tennis courts, children’s play area, bar and restaurant and car park. San Lucido is a small rustic town built on a rocky outcropping overlooking the wonderful turquoise sea. Its historic buildings, small lanes, alleys and winding roads combined with its excellent seafood restaurants make it an excellent location to discover the ancient culture and natural beauty of Calabria and its neighbouring town of Paola, Pizzo and the Aeolian islands. The Sila National park with its lakes and mountains are only a drive away. Several fine ski resorts and rental facilities are available in winter. San Lucido Beach resort was completed in 2009. The picturesque mountains and its long sandy beach provide an excellent back drop to this new vibrant beach resort.

On arrival you will be welcomed by a very helpful and friendly local rental management company which comprises both English and Italian speaking staff and are knowledgeable on the local area and amenities.

The beach is only 150m from the apartment with a private area with parasols and chairs available. Boat trips to the Aeolian islands are possible from nearby port 30 mins. Visits to Sicily by ferry from Reggio Calabria 2 hours by car.

9 hole golf course located within 30 minutes drive at San Michele Grand Hotel.
Skiing
From late December to early March there are three ski stations within Sila National Park, Camigliatello, La Paliava - 70 minutes away. Ski hire and schools are available.
Travel
Lamezia Terme airport is the nearest airport 53km. Naples airport is 300km away. Car hire is available at both airports and is recommended for this type of holiday.
By train San Lucido is a stop on the main train route that runs from Rome to Sicily. Paolo is 7km from San Lucido with connections to Rome/Naples etc.

1km to San Lucido, 7km to Paolo( nearest city and main line train stop). 30km to Cosenza, 265km to Pompei, 170km to Reggio di Calabria and 290km to Sicily.

Supermarket 10 min walk. Cheap Lidl type supermarket 10 minute drive. Large restaurant pizzeria 5 minutes walk. Many sea food restaurants and pizzerias within 10 minute drive. Take away pizzeria centre of San Lucido. Banks and Bancomat in centre of San Lucido.

About the owner
We are a couple living in Belfast with three small children. When we saw Calabria and esp. San Lucido we were sold. We are looking forward to spending quality time here every year. This area has it all, climate, culture and cuisine. The town of San Lucido has good rail and bus connections to the cities to the north, Rome and Naples, and it is close to Lamezia Terme airport.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The location is spectacular. The mountain at the rear and a private sandy beach to the front. The fact that San Lucido is on the main Sicily-Rome train route meant we are able to access other tourist destinations easily.
San Lucido itself is a beautiful quaint town built on a rock overlooking the Med sea, and yet children can avail of all the amenities of the resort - the swimming pools, tennis courts and plenty of interaction with other children. For us there is plenty for the children to do yet they can discover an Italy rich in culture in years to come - by visting Pompei, Rome etc.
Unique benefits of the property
The complex is safe and the apartment is furnished to a very high standard. The beach is 150 metres away and San Lucido is 1km away, and the town as all the amenities one would need. Even in winter the temperature remains pleasantly high.
San Lucido is located on the main Sciliy - Rome trainline which is a great bonus.
