The Plazzo Norci is a beautiful restored, 16th Century Palazzo on the edge of the tranquil and beautiful Pieve di Santa Luce, a small traditional village immersed in the peaceful oasis of the lowlands of Maremma. Pisa airport is only 35 minutes drive to the apartment, making our apartment an ideal starting point for discovering Tuscany. It has a private entrance and is located on the ground floor. There are two shared outdoor communal swimming pools one for adults and one for children with a view over Santa Luce valley. This charming apartment will suit couples and families.

Changeover day
It is normally Saturday, but it may be possible to offer flexibility, especially in low and mid season. Long weekends are also possible. Guests should arrive between 4pm and 9pm and leave by 11am.

Accessibility
The apartment is on ground level, has its own double door entrance. There is also a small step from internal hall to the living area and second bedroom.

Outside
Enjoy the tranquility of unbroken countryside by day, a refreshing breeze to moderate the summer heat and an intense starry sky at night. The patio captures the morning sun and there is a table and chairs for alfresco dining. The shared swimming pool is across from the apartment, with steps down to it. It has both an adult and a children’s pool. The pool is open from June to September. A small toddler children’s park is a 2 minute walk away. Local facilities consist of a shop (a few doors away) that sells most amenities, a cafe bar with ice cream/opposite the child park (locals and holiday makers gather there in the evenings) and one of the oldest churches in Tuscany, now restored. On various week days a local market van visits selling farm produce. There is a great restaurant/pizza bar 2 minutes walk from the apartment, called La Gozzetta, which all visitors have commented on their great food, pizza and wine.

Coast/Beach
The Maremma coastline is just 20 minutes drive away with its beautiful sandy beaches where you can relax and soak up the Tuscan sun. Some of the beaches are Vada, Bibbona, Castiglioncello, Rosignano Solvay (with its famous White beach) and Cecina, where there is a water theme park. At the beach you can hire deckchairs and umbrella. You can also enjoy water sports or even hire bikes and cycle along the coast line through pine woods.

Golf
There are a few golf courses in Tuscany - Golf Club Maremello and Castelfalfi.

Special interest holidays
In the next little village named Pomaia you find one of the most important Centres for Tibetan Buddhism 'Istituto Lhama Tzong Khapa' with large variety of courses. For lovers of Opera, this area is home to the world famous tenor, Andrea Bocelli, who gives a local concert every July at the open air Teatro del Silenzio, On a middle Sunday in July at Casole d'Elsa – is a mini palio - same ceremonies and horse race, but more intimate than the better known one at Siena. Outside theatre and musical festivals in June/July in Lucca. Racing and many festivals in the villages.

Travel
Pisa airport is 35 mins from the apartment and the drive is very straightforward. It has regular flights all year round from a wide range of countries and cities, and multiple car hire agents on site. A car is highly recommended for visiting the many places of interest, and for easy access to the nearest village for groceries etc. The lovely seaport of Livorno is about 20 mins away with 45 min ferry trips to Elba from Piombiono, which is c1.25 hrs away.

Distances
The area is full of Roman and Etruscan ruins, as well as beautiful medieval and Renaissance cities, with countless churches, galleries, museums to explore, making it an all year round destination. Pisa 32km, Lucca 50km, Florence 80km, Livorno 28km, Volterra 50km, San Gimignano 70km. Siena 95km. The hill top villages offer uncrowded tourist interest and good food such as Chiani, Casciano terme, Bolgheri famous for its wine.

Further details
The sister village of Santa Luce offers a bank, post office, pharmacy as well as small convenience shops. Supermarkets are in the larger towns all within easy reach.

The famous spa town of Casiana Terme is only 15 minutes drive away, with its hot natural springs cascading into small rock pools, like mother natures Jacuzzi is a definite must especially in the winter! For the more energetic there is a horse riding stables down near the beach just 20 minutes drive away, where you can trek through olive groves in the Tuscan hills. If you want lively bars and an English breakfast on your holiday, this is definitely not the place for you! If you’re looking for culture, art, crafts, tradition, local cuisine, fine wines all in an area of stunning natural beauty, where the pace of life slows right down under the Tuscan sun… then you’ll definitely enjoy a holiday in this part of paradise! Tuscany boasts a lovely climate. The best way to describe it is that it seems to have 'proper' seasons which all have something special to share with you... Warm sunny Spring days make a regular appearance from as early as March sending the area into full bloom with blossom on the trees and poppies by the roadside. The summers are hot and relaxing with inviting beaches and shaded pine forests. Autumn's sunny days are a kaleidoscope of colours, an array of aromas with bursting vines and olive groves awaiting harvest time. The winter months are colder, time to enjoy the quiet villages filled with the cozy aroma of wood burning on the open fires, wrap up warm for a stroll on the beach or soak away your worries in the nearby hot springs of Casiana Terme... Mother Nature's Jacuzzi!
