Our stunning 18th century townhouse, sympathetically restored by specialists from Florence, is situated in the Spirito Santo area of Ostuni in a quiet and quaint traffic free cobbled street 5 mins walk from the main Piazza Liberta and the historical centre with an amazing selection of shops, bars and restaurants catering for all tastes and age groups. Blue flag beaches are within 15 mins drive. Tumbling myriads of whitewashed winding alleys, steps, courtyards and archways, hence 'La Citta Bianca'. Set on 3 hills, stunning Ostuni offers a many faceted holiday whether you relax on a beach/terrace, explore the areas fascinating history and churches, play golf, ride horses or visit one of the similarly interesting towns close by. The list is endless. Still somewhat undiscovered by overseas visitors friendly Ostuni is a delightful place to enjoy the hospitality of the local people who go out of their way to make you welcome. Bars restaurants and shops open late into the evening in season.

No extra charges for final cleaning. To enable this we respectfully ask guests to leave our holiday home as it was found.
Additional occupancy on request. We would be pleased to discuss special rates for longer stays and winter breaks. Additional charge of £55 for stays of less than 1 week. High season June, July and August minimum stay 1 week.
Changeover day
Flexible. Arrival/ departure times are indicated on the booking form. We will however be flexible depending on the arrival / departure times of other guests.

Notes on accommodation
We do not consider the house to be suitable for people with walking difficulties or very small children because of the marble stairs and the roof terrace, however, individual requests will be considered. We personally think, that although the house is spacious and will sleep 4 people we feel it is more suited to a couple seeking a romantic relaxing holiday, however again individual requests will be considered for additional occupancy. Air-conditioning/heating available. Airport transfers can be arranged - 40 euros each way from Brindisi 80 euros each way from Bari in a Mercedes class E saloon. Tours of the area also can be organised. Half day -100km price 100 euros. Full day 200km price 180 euros. Specific tours can be quoted for. Booking required for the above in advance.

Outside
The large sunny flower decked roof terrace has a stone floor, wall lantern and decorative railings around. A rattan covered pergola offers a shady place to relax eat or read. We provide outdoor seating and table for 4 for a romantic alfresco dining experience. Two sun loungers and a cool bag are available for use the terrace and for use on the beach. A fabulous retreat to enjoy all those books you have been meaning to read !The view is over the rooftops of Ostuni and to the sea beyond.
Coast/Beach
Beaches are within 15 mins drive from Ostuni and there is a whole coastline to choose from. There are sandy stretches and rocky coves. Some beaches have 'paid for' areas, where you can hire beds and umbrellas,in season, but the vast majority are free. Favourites are Pilone, Camerini at Villanova. Chill,swim, dive off the rocks, then have a cool drink at Jimmiz bar in Gorgonola.
Pantagianni is another visitors recommendation.Torre Guaceto is a renowned WWF nature reserve, well worth a visit.
Golf
San Domenica golf course lies next to the town of Savelletri di Fasano and is approximately 20 minutes drive from Ostuni. Its south boundary is as close to the sea as the road and rocky coastline will allow. A challenging 18 hole 72 par course with superb views of the Adriatic. Together with strategic bunkering, definitive fairway shaping and a clever green design, a thought provoking golf test has been set. Open all year.
Travel
The nearest airport is Brindisi around 45 mins drive and Bari is around 1hr 10 mins. The low cost airline Ryanair offers very competitive fares. British Airways flys from Gatwick to Bari. Hertz is the cheapest hire car company we have found. Friendly irport transfer can be arranged for you at a competitive rate. Parking is available free in streets close to Vico Michele Amari. There is a pay and display car park within 15 mins walk. Meter parking is 5 mins walk and again is reasonably priced.

Further details
The restaurants in Ostuni are magic. Whether you want a simple pizza or a 3/4 course meal there are loads to choose from. Details of our (and our guests) favourites will be left in the house. Keith Floyd and Rick Stein have televised their cookery programmes from Puglia and actually visited Ostuni. There are various shops including supermarkets and a fresh fish /seafood shop, pizza /kebab takeaway, within walking distance. Chemist, banks are also within easy walking distance. You can have a shirt made to measure at Camiceria Ligorio from 37.5 euros! Local produce can be found at Hortensia and Coop De Laurentis.In the modern part of Ostuni town you can find designer clothing stunning jewelley and local pottery. Make an interesting stop at one of the many ferramenta (ironmongers) which will take you back (if you can remember that is) to England in the 1950's. Whatever funny little grommet or other repair piece is required can be found in one of the little drawers or (out the back) and they are always helpful. Stunningly decorated bars with amazing architectural features that wouldn't look out of place in Milan or London are a surprising feature of this most interesting of Italian towns, serving food and playing cool music into the very early hours. Check out Riccardos and Gipas 111. There is a wonderful Saturday morning market with bargains to be had and an antiques market around the park on the second Sunday of every month. Booking notes
A deposit of 20% of the rental costs is required to confirm your booking. The balance is required 42 days prior to arrival. A security deposit of £100 cash/cheque is requested to cover any serious damage or breakages which will be refunded when the keys are returned and the house has been inspected.
