Dominating the little village of Rasiglia (belonging to the Foligno municipality), Residence Menotre is an ancient 15th century stone tower built for defence of the Trinci's Castle. The Residence enjoys astonishing views and it is ideal to relax and rest oneself away from city chaos. Residence Menotre is the result of a careful restoration of an ancient stone tower belonging to the Trinci's Castle, which imposing walls are still visible. Situated on the hills of Foligno (650m asl), the Residence is the ideal place for those loving nature in all its aspects. From the original building, three different apartments have been made: Corinna, Ilaria and Micol.

Special interest holidays
The opportunity to visit our hand-weaving atelier in Rasiglia: we will explain you the ancient art of hand weaving by broadcasting a 30min movie (exclusive!) and we will show you ancient instruments and teach you how to use them. There will be also a weaving demonstration. Guided tours to our olive grove and extra virgin olive oil tasting with a fragrant ‘bruschetta’ - Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil won the Silver Medal at the 2009 LA International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition. Wine Tasting with an English speaking professional Sommelier. Visits to the wine cellars associated to the “Strada dei Vini del Cantico” and the “Strada del Sagrantino” wine roads. Ceramics Courses in Deruta: The courses are given by a master ceramist, supported by the owner of the workshop. The courses are carried out through practical experience into the initial stages.

In the heart of Menotre Valley, the Residence is a real haven of peace and the perfect base for pleasant cultural trips. It is also a convenient touring base for those wishing to explore the spectacular show of nature: you can take a walk or riding a horse in the country (riding school: 3km), or rock climbing 7km away from the Residence up to enjoying the beauty of the valleys doing rafting or canyoning on impetuous torrents and rivers just 30km away.

'We couldn't get enough of Roman/medieval Umbrian cities, so we decided to stay here, with Spello, Spoleto, Bevagna and other cities within reach. When you drive to Spoleto, choose the way to Molini/Pettino: it will give a wonderful sight over the valley - and an impression of the way villages grow in this relatively silent part of Italy.
Umbria recovered wonderfully from the earthquakes in 1997/98. There is, however, still a lot to do. We enjoyed our stay, love your cities & your people'.

Hello! My name is Corinna and I am the owner of this lovely accommodation together with other two holiday houses in Umbria. Renting holiday apts. is my family business and I always put all of my energy and joy to this challenging job. I love to cook, to read and to share my knowledge about Umbria with my guests. I am also the producer of an award-winning extra virgin olive oil - infact in the picture you can see me during the olive harvest! Hope to see you soon here in the green heart of Italy!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
In 1987 my grandmother had a brilliant idea, to buy the ancient 15th century tower – which has now become our Residence Menotre – located in Rasiglia, the small village that gave birth to our family and to which my grandmother was so profoundly linked.
Since 1990 we have been running a small business offering holiday apartments in a quite secluded, not so well-known part of Umbria, but nevertheless extremely fascinating and rich in tourist attractions.
Unique benefits of the property
Only 18 km away from Foligno, the house is very central if you want to visit the main artistic Umbrian cities. Assisi, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco, Trevi, Spoleto and Perugia are at short distance. There’s nothing more rewarding than the quiet and silence of the evening breeze blowing through your apartment in the Residence Menotre when you come back from a busy day spent discovering our fine art cities.
Outdoor sports enthusiasts will be happy to experience a number of activities in the nearby Park of Colfiorito and Sibillini National Park.
