Trullo Fico is an ancient stone Trullo, created to ensure your holiday is comfortable and relaxing. Set in three acres of olive, almond and fruit trees, the house has a large patio area featuring a private 10 x 5m swimming pool with small children's pool/jacuzzi, a bamboo shaded dining area with large stone barbecue, and a variety of comfortable seating including a bamboo covered outside sofa, beanbag sofa, sunbeds, hammock and deckchairs. There's also a trampoline and table tennis table. The house is interior-designed and well equipped with hand picked furniture, feature lighting, luxury mattresses with feather duvets and Egyptian cotton sheets. In the dining area, there is a SMEG oven and hob, dishwasher and large American style fridge/freezer. There are two wet rooms with chrome power showers and Egyptian cotton towels. Entertainment includes Teac music system, iPod loaded with tunes and speakers inside and out, plus flat screen TV, a well-stocked DVD library and children's toys.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in £. This includes all facilities and utilities (water, gas, electricity and wood). Included in the price is a tour by our on the ground manager, a comprehensive welcome pack, weekly clean, linen change, pool maintenance and gardening.
During the low season we are happy to consider weekend breaks.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday at 4pm. However, in the winter season, there may be some flexibility. Departure by 10am.

| Kitchen: | In the well equipped kitchen, you will find a Smeg oven and hob, large American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and toaster. Comprehensive cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking equipment and children's cutlery/crockery are provided. |
| Utility Room: | Not to be used too often as you are on holiday! However, it does contain a washing machine, iron and ironing board, cleaning products, vacuum cleaner and various brushes. |
| Living Rooms: | The snug is home to a Danish four-seater and three-seater leather sofas, a TV/DVD system, Teac music system, iPod full of music, speakers inside and out. A DVD, book and toy library and number of popular adults/children's board games will keep all amused. |
| Other: | The living room/kitchen has a leather day-bed and modern oak dining table with 8 hand picked chairs - which one will you choose? Trullo Fico also has comfortable rugs, silver faux throws, cushions and a fireplace to make the house cosy in winter. |

Notes on accommodation
A comprehensive welcome pack is provided so that you don't have to rush off to the supermarket. This is included in the rental cost. Mimmo, our manager on the ground speaks fluent English and Italian and will be on hand to guide you around the property when you arrive. He can also help you with restaurant reservations, babysitting and taxi requirements, or any other queries. It is also possible to organise for a meal to be delivered to Trullo Fico should you require it. These are extra costs. Children are very welcome - we can provide a cot, high chair, potties and stair gates on request. Kitchen cupboards have also been child-proofed. Please note that our 10 x 5m swimming pool is not closed off and therefore, small children should be supervised. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets. The house does not have air-conditioning due to its historical design. However, the predominant use of stone in the property ensures that it retains its cool even in the height of summer.
Accessibility
The house and large patio area is on one level with easy access and wide doors. The property is suitable for wheelchair use, however if you have mobility problems, please call before booking and we can discuss specific needs to ensure that all your needs are met.
Outside
Set in three acres of olive, almond and fruit trees, the house is completed enclosed and has a large patio area featuring a private 10 x 5m swimming pool with small children's pool/jacuzzi, a bamboo shaded dining area with large stone barbecue, and a variety of comfortable seating including a bamboo covered outside sofa, beanbag sofa, sunbeds, hammock and deckchairs. For small kids (and the big ones!), there is also a large trampoline and all-weather table tennis table within the grounds. A variety of 'ride-on' toddler toys can also be found at the house.
Coast/Beach
Trullo Fico has has sea on both sides of it - the Adriatic is about 10km away with a mixture of sandy and rocky beaches along the extensive coastline. The Ionic coast line, approximately 40km away, is very different, with great historic architecture and white sandy beaches. There you can also find a wide array of water sport activities.
Golf
There are public and private golf clubs near Fasano, approximately 20 minutes drive away.
Special interest holidays
There is a wonderful market in Ostuni on Saturday morning (until 1pm) selling an array of fresh, seasonal local produce.
Travel
Ryanair flies from London Stansted to Bari and Brindisi. British Airways flies from Gatwick to Bari. Bari is approximately 80km (an hour and a quarter) from the property. Brindisi is approximately 40km (40 minutes) from the property. Car hire is necessary. Avis, Hertz, Europcar can be found at Bari and Brindisi airports.
Distances
Trullo Fico is situated directly between Ostuni (la Citta Bianca) and Ceglie Messapica (Terra d'Arte e Gastronomia) - both are approximately a five minute drive.
Further details
In Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica you can find a wide variety of restaurants, osterias, ice-cream parlours and pizzerias. The architecture of these towns is very beautiful and representative of the area. The local supermarket is approximately five minutes by car. Both Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica have excellent individual fish, meat, pasta, fruit and vegetable, wine and cheese shops. The house also provides easy access to other beautiful Baroque towns of Lecce, Martina Franca, Alberobello and Locorotondo.

We had a fab 10 days here relaxing by the pool. The house is gorgeous, very Soho House! We were very lucky with the weather and spent every day lounging by the pool with the kids happily splashing around.We didn’t go out much as it was so lovely to chill out here but popped into beautiful Ostuni a couple of times enjoyed ice creams and predinner drinks and nibbles. I can’t recommend this place enough! Trullo Fico is even better and roomier than the website suggests. It was a much needed long weekend away for 6 busy mums. I will go back in the summer to take advantage of the amazing outdoor space and pool and I might even take my family! Jodie, March 2011

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We loved Puglia from the moment we set eyes on it, the amazing architecture, history, culture, charming people, wonderful food and wine. These elements, in a beautiful rustic setting dominated by olive trees and still that innate style Italy is famous for! The fact that tourism is low-key and less commercial is particularly appealing, especially in the peak tourist season. A search for the annual rude postcard for my brother drew a blank, something I was very pleased about! We fell in love with Trullo Fico for its history and location. It is a traditional, original stone Saracen Trullo with two newer lamia (vaulted rooms) attached either side. The simplicity of the materials belies the craftsmanship within the building. The stones have definitely got lots of stories to tell.
