Off the kitchen is the living room which offers the most marvelous view and also a small balcony. This room contains the bed settee and also ensuite bathroom so can become an independent bedroom if necessary. The house dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and has recently been restored, offering modern comforts whilst maintaining its original features: wooden stairs, beautiful chestnut beams and the old cellar.

We provide good quality bed linen, towels and also beach towels for each person. The property is cleaned thoroughly at each change over. Extra cleaning can be provided if requested and will be charged apart. |

Notes on accommodation
During the cooler months heating can be supplied for a small extra charge. There are several free communal car-parks in the village.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, the property is unsuitable for people with mobility problems.

Our small terrace is suitable for dining or just relaxing on.
Coast/Beach
The village of Falerna is situated about 500metres a.s.l. which offers an ideal climate for those who find the heat a little too much. About a15 mins drive takes you down to the Marina, where there are several restaurants, pizzarias, bars and a pleasant promenade. Whilst with a 10 mins drive you can be up into the the most beautiful woodlands, chestnuts, oakes, pines and beeches a walkers paradise, here you can find serval picnic areas with barbecues ready for use.
Travel
Lamezia Airport 45 mins drive. Car hire available. Lamezia Rail station the same 45 mins by car. Naples 3 hrs by train four and half by car. Villa San Giovanni, ferries for Sicily 1.30mins. Flights direct from Gatwick to Lamezia, Monarch Airlines. Stansted to Lamezia, Ryan Air. Liverpool to Naples, Easy Jet. Any Rail or Air tickets can be arranged through our family Travel Agency.
Distances
Local Places to visit; Amantea, Pizzo, Tropea, Nicotera, Cosenza. Fiumefreddo.
Most of these place are about an hours drive away.-
From Vibo harbour during the summer months its possible to take part in the daily excursions over to the splendid Eolie Islands organized by a National Tour Operator.
Further details
In the village you can find several grocers, fruit and veg, butchers, the chemist, bars. Also in the village there is a small family run restaurant which provides local dishes along with pizzas. Close to the village there are two agroturisms which also make local dishes.
The nearby hills are ideal for those who enjoy walking.

We usually rent the property Saturday to Saturday, but if we can we''ll be happy to try and fit in with your flights.
We would like a 20% deposit on confirmation.

About the owner
I've suddenly realized that I've lived far longer here than in England.....time flies!
For a few years I lived in Rome, which still has a special place in my heart.
Calabria over the years has become my home, here I have my family and wonderful friends.
To me, Calabria is one of Italy's most beautiful regions, and thanks to the local branch of the Alpine Club (CAI) I've had the opportunity to see some of its most wild and magnificent places. Anyone who is interested in trekking, cross-country skiing, kite surfing could have a great time here. We're not very organized, then who wants to be always organized?
Here's the chance to unwind and relax taking in the sun, sand and scenery not forgetting the food and the "grape juice". Ci vediamo presto!
Why the owner chose a home in this location
The house belonged to my husband's family and had been abandoned for several years, that's why it has been a pleasure to restore it.
