On the rolling hills of the Black Rooster, in the very heart of Chianti, between Radda, Castellina and Vagliagli sits Pornanino, a lovingly restored farmhouse surrounded by 36 hectares of olive groves and wooded hills. The rivers Arbia and Serchio mark the boundaries. Franco and Lia Lombardi are part of the breed of neo farmers migrating from major cities in search of a slower-paced lifestyle where basic values of life are emphasized in everyday living. Franco Lombardi has taken on the role of producer of top-quality olive oil with great passion and conducts weekly seminars and tastings on the subject. Franco and Lia have carefully restored the main house and two stone built barns, Capannino (4-5 people) and Leccino (2 people), renovated to excellent standards and appointed with the same warm style as their own home, with antique furniture enhancing beamed ceilings and cotto floors. Capannino and Leccino can be rented together.

Changeover day
Saturday, arrivals from 4pm to 7pm, departure by 9am. Saturday check-in, check-in from 16:00 to 18:00, check out before 9:00.

Notes on accommodation
Very peaceful property suitable for families and couples. Not suitable for wheelchair users. Private furnished garden. Safe. Hair dryers. Fans. Screened windows.
Private central heating is available if required from October to May at extra cost (upon consumption).
Guests are invited to visit our stone mill and taste our extra virgin olive oil.

Private covered terrace with table and chairs, private garden with outdoor furniture, 9 acres of garden and approx 100 acres in olive groves and woods. Shared swimming pool (12m x 6m) open from mid-May to end of September.

30% deposit upon reservation, balance 4 weeks before arrival. Owner directly manage your information and booking requests via email. Included in the prices linen, towels and pool towels, water, gas, electricity, ADSL internet access, final cleaning. Not included in the prices - heating and telephone. Note: rates in Euros per week, minimum stay one week, Short stay of minimum 4 nights in low season.
