The farmhouse with typical native architectural style has 2 levels, historically the ground floor housed the stables, where arched ceilings and sturdy structural arches give the rooms its particular flavour. The kitchen has dishwasher, refridgerator, oven & stove and connects to the dining room & living room with fireplace. There are 2 doors opening up from the kitchen and from the dining room to the outside terrace and barbecue area to enjoy the Tuscan flavours while simply admiring the landscape. A separate room with a small kitchenette and large bathroom with a queen bed and one twin bed, provide togetherness and independence at the same time. On the second floor, that can also be reached by & independent entrance, there are 3 bedrooms 2 of which with a queen size bed and one with 2 twin size beds, and 2 bathrooms, one with shower and one with a bathtub. A beautiful open room with the second fireplace and a sofa-bed connects all the rooms including a fully fitted gymnasium area.

Prices are for the property per week in Euros. We work with two seasons, low season and high season.
Changeover day
Departure is Saturday morning before 10 am.
Arrivals are Saturday afternoon between 3 pm and 6 pm.

Notes on accommodation
This house is suitable for children and pets. The pool is fenced and has a sundeck area around it.
Accessibility
We apologize that we are not equipped for disabled guests. The property is set in an uneven floor-plan with steps and an uneven outdoor area.
Outside
The house has a loggia or balcony with room for sitting and enjoy incredible views. A barbecue area with a terrace and deck furniture for eating outdoors. An area around the pool for sunbathing.
Coast/Beach
The seashore is about a 90 minute drive from the villa.
Golf
There are 9 golf courses (18 hole) and several (9 holes), three of which are about half an hour to one hour from the villa.

Shop Hours:
With very few exceptions such as the hyper market in Montevarchi that is open from 8 am until 9 pm, shops are generally open from 8 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm.
On Sundays everything is closed except bars and pharmacies and gas stations whose turn is to stay open, and certain Sundays also the big hypermarkets are open, such as the Coop at Montevarchi (about 30 minutes from the house) or the Punto Sma in Castelnuovo Berardenga, opened from 8:30 to 12:30 on Sunday mornings. Many gas stations have a self serving pump where you can pay and fill up on gas even on holidays and during closing hours.

Booking notes
We provide a 72 hour complimentary hold until booking confirmation. We expect a 30% downpayment at the time of booking and the balance 10 weeks prior to vacation time. If booking is within 10 weeks of vacation time we expect payment in full at the time of booking.

About the owner
Valerie Bottazzi settled in Tuscany in 2002 while working in the wine industry, but the enchantments of Tuscany convinced her to stay. Born & raised in Argentina, after college, she studied on a Fulbright fellowship in California, to obtain a Master in Business Administration. She purchased Il Colombaio, as her own Tuscan dream villa. Changes in lifestyle prompted her to start renting her beautiful farmhouse and move to the town of Castelnuovo Berardenga, near Siena. She personally takes care of the villa rental and its guests and can tailor to specific needs as she not only knows the lay of the land, she now owns her own real estate agency in Tuscany. Valerie is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and French, making relations with the international community that much more fun!
