A spacious luxury trullo property that is unique to this region of Italy. This is a character property with trulli cones, vaulted ceilings, stone walls and stone and marble floors. The property is well designed, retaining all the character of the traditional trullo whilst offering very spacious and flexible accommodation, across 2 wings, making it ideal for families and groups of all sizes. The trullo has a large private solar heated pool, a poolside gazebo and comfortable high quality sunbeds, all set in an enclosed garden in an elevated position. The property has both covered and open patio areas on both the south and east aspects for alfresco dining with high quality stone/aluminium garden furniture. The large games room and wireless internet are additional attractive features. Set in a stunning location, panoramic views across to the Val D'Itria and the distant town of Martina Franca, yet within a 5 minute drive of the famous town of Alberobello. (UNESCO heritage site).

Notes on prices
I can accept debit and credit cards via my PayPal account.
Prices shown are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Pricing includes linen and towels (including beach towels) and final cleaning (see notes on security deposit). For 2 week stays we include a mid stay change of linen and towels. Extra cleaning can be arranged and paid for locally. Heating is chargeable and is based upon metered usage.
Pool is heated and open from April to October.

Changeover day
Saturday changeover during high season.
Departure by 10am and arrival after 4pm.
In low season we maybe able to accomodate mid week changeovers.

There is spacious living accommodation with room to spread out - a large open plan living room with 2 large comfortable sofas and additional seating for dining as well as a wonderful character "snug" set within the trullo alcoves with leather sofa and 2 armchairs. The living room and snug both offers a flat screen TV/satellite/ DVD, Hi Fi with Ipod connex and CD selection.
The kitchen/dining room is well equipped . Oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, kettle and toaster, there is a table and seating for dining. Highchair available.
6 large bedrooms, bed 1,2,3 with kingsize beds, bed 4 & 5 set up as twins, Bed 6 single. All have wardrobes, drawers - 2 cots available.
4 bathrooms with showers, WC, bidet, basin.
Utility facilities - additional fridge/freezer/washing machine/iron + ironing board
washing line.
Roof terrace.
Games Room with TV/DVD + library, Wii, table tennis, darts, board games, pool/beach toys, bikes.

 

Notes on accommodation
The property is designed incorporating 2 wings, with bedrooms/bathrooms situated in each wing. There is a double and twin in the east wing and 2 bathrooms, and 2 doubles, twin and single with a further 2 bathrooms in the west wing. This layout is popular enabling some privacy for families who wish to spread out and have some independent living.

Bed linen and towels (including pool towels) are provided and are changed weekly for 2 week stays.

Bedrooms have either desk/floor standing fans to circulate air. The property is not air conditioned as this is not felt necessary given the high ceilings do keep
the property cool in the peak months.

Central heating is available for the cooler months.

Mosquito "plug ins" are available in all the bedrooms for guest usage and
mosquito nets are fitted to the bedroom windows.

Accessibility
There are no stairs to negotiate with this property thus making it suitable in most cases for elderly/disabled people. Externally there is just one small step between the property patio and access to the pool garden.

Outside
The fabulous 10 x 5m heated pool is a feature of the property that is set in an enclosed walled landscaped garden in an elevated position with stunning views across the Val D'Itria (Open from April to end Oct subject to weather). The pool has been enclosed sympathetically to retain the character and views, but does provide a greater degree of security and safety for families with young children,
with its stone walls and pretty iron fencing with lockable gate. The pool is
equipped with 10 aluminium sunbeds and benefits from a pergola providing
permanent shade with an aluminium table and 4 chairs. The pool is cleaned
regularly throughout your stay to ensure your maximum enjoyment. The villa
has 2 patios, both with covered and open areas. The south facing patio is large
with a stone table and seating for 10. The east facing patio has a large
aluminum circular table with seating for 6.

Large parking area with shade at the rear of the property. A large BBQ is available.

Coast/Beach
Beaches are 25 minutes away on the Adriatic Coast and a little further (approximately 40 minutes) are the Ionian beaches. Both coastlines are beautiful and ideal for safe bathing. We can recommend good beaches which offer bars, restaurants and toilets nearby.

Special interest holidays
The area around is is perfect for cycling, undulating countryside and minimal traffic. We have 4 bikes that guests are welcome to use and can suggest various cycle routes. We also provide walking routes for guests for the surrounding area.

We can arrange an Italian dining experience in the comfort of your villa, where our talented housekeeper will come and prepare, cook and serve you a typical puglian 4 course meal - a wonderful and truely mouth watering experience!

Travel
Bari and Brindisi airports are conveniently located, both within an hour from the villa and Naples an easy 3 hour drive with greater frequency and cheaper flights. Direct flights to the region daily from Stansted (Ryan Air) and 3 times weekly from Gatwick (BA) or fly via Milan or Rome. Car hire is essential. (Google Earth Grid Ref. N 40° 45.156

Distances
Historic Alberobello (UNESCO heritage site) with all the trullis is the nearest town approximately 5 minutes away. Martina Franca a beautiful baroque style city is approximately 15 minutes away. Other local towns and cities are Locorotondo (15 minutes) and Ostuni (30 minutes). Castellana Caves are within easy reach, the most spectacular caves in Italy and as such are well worth a visit.

Further details
There are plenty of local restaurants to explore in Alberobello and the surrounding cities that offer fantastic food at very reasonable prices. There is a good supermarket approximately 5 minutes from the house that stocks all you could need. With prior arrangement, we can arrange for someone to prepare a local speciality dinner for you in the privacy of your villa. Beach towels provided.

30% non refundable deposit at time of booking.
70% balance must be paid 8 weeks prior to the start of rental period. Refundable security deposit cheque of £500 to cover unforeseen/serious damage costs. e.g. a cleaning/laundry surcharge may be applied if the property is not left in the condition it was acquired. (An extra £200 in cooler months is required) Refundable within 2 weeks of your departure subject to satisfactory inspection.

great character property, spotlessly clean, very well maintained and equipped
with a great attention to detail. With two small children we really appreciated the terrific pool which was a lovely temperature. The pool toys, swingball, table tennis and games in the house were a big hit and very thoughtful. About the owner
I live in the UK with my husband and our 3 children. We have 2 teenage girls and a special needs son who is 9. We have busy lives here in the UK, I run my own business specialising in customer service and leadership training and my husband works in the city. Puglia was our opportunity to have an escape "bolt hole" away from all the fast pace of normal life where we could relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of this Puglian lifestyle. We have carefully adapted this property to make it accessible for my son and therefore can offer guests the benefits of this, with the property being accessible to people with restricted mobility.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We purchased our trulli and villa 6 years ago. The stunning location was a major deciding factor in our choice. We also felt that the set-up of the accommodation offered great flexibility and opportunity for families to holiday together but with some independence, a thing we have found hard to achieve when staying in 1 large property. This seemed to provide the perfect answer. Transforming this rural farmhouse into a luxury villa/ trullo has been very exciting and rewarding. We have loved creating a garden from scratch and to see it mature has been fantastic. We just love it out there and are very proud of what we have achieved. Just wish we had more time to enjoy it! The rural location is a plus - near to Alberobello but far enough away to be secluded and hear complete silence.

Being quite discerning ourselves and having stayed in many self catering villas we know what works and what doesn't. We have looked to create a home from home rather than a rental villa. Safety - a top priority. Not many villas offer enclosed pools and this for us was a must to give greater peace of mind with young children around. Comfort and quality - top priorities.
