This spacious Summer house with a private swimming pool is surrounded by olives and fruit trees creating a wonderful feeling of privacy and exclusiveness. The building is on one level which also includes an extensive 60sq.mt. portico where one can dine, relax and enjoy stunning sunsets.Contemporary designer objects and furniture define the elegant and essential style of the house complemented by old beams,terracotta ceilings and floors. A separate dining area is located at the rear of the property leading to an annexe with supplementary kitchen and acces to a third bathroom. A well tended garden surrounds the house with lawns,lavander flowers, roses and a rich kitchen garden. The garden provides further seating and relaxation areas to be enjoyed at different parts of the day and leads to the swimming pool. The house is 5 minutes from the medieval village of Montecchio, 20 minutes to beautiful Orvieto and Todi respectively.

Changeover day
Saturday is normal though this can be flexible given sufficient advance notice. Arrival after 3pm, departure around 10am to facilitate the preparation of the house for the visitors' stay.

| Kitchen: | Stove with 4 cookers and oven, dishwasher, fridge, sink, well stocked kitchen appliances. Good quality table linen, cutlery, dishes and glasses. Italian and English cook books. |
| Utility Room: | Separate from the main building,is an annexe with second stove with 4 cookers, oven, sink, refrigerator, separate big freezer and a washing machine. This unit also houses the boiler providing constant hot water, facilities for ironing. |
| Living Rooms: | The central core of the house is basically an open space which consists of the kitchen and dining and living room with fireplace. From the right and left side of this open space you can reach 2 more living rooms with sofas, armchair, TV, DVD, CD players. |
| Other: | The portico is very much a living space with long dining table and chairs, garden furniture, sofas, hammock. During the heat of the day the portico is sheltered by large, white linen curtains, a vine and rose pergola. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
First quality towels and linen in all bed linen are included.The cleaning of the pool and the watering of the flowers are done every day as part of the rent. A maid service is optional according to your needs. |

The private pool is 10x6 meters and 145 cm.deep. Deck chairs and sun loungers are provided at the side along with an external shower. Within the surrounding garden further chairs,tables and outside umbrellas are positioned to enjoy the outside space at different times of the day.

Montecchio village has food shops a supermarket and 2 local restaurants, bank, pharmacy, medical assistance day and night, dentist, post office and Carabinieri. Orvieto has major supermarkets, clothes shops, bookshops, infinite restaurants. In the whole area there are good country restaurants. Around 10km from Montecchio there is the Vissani Restaurant on the lake of Corbara which is one of the most famous restaurant in Italy. Another place of interest is the Spa and Health Center Messeguè in Montecchio, and in Viterbo one can enjoy hot springs, le Terme dei Papi. Trekking, jogging, cycling, horse riding, canoeing (lake Corbara- 10km), watersports (Lake Bolsena), gardening, archeology, hunting when allowed.

30% deposit upon booking. Full payment one month before arrival. On arrival breakage deposit €500,00 (refundable). Final cleaning €100,00. Heating upon consumption. Wood for fireplace(if used) €20/ quintal. Water and electricity and cleaning of the pool are included in the price of the rental.

Italian journalist/photographer/filmmaker, lives in Rome.
Canadian painter lives in N. old friends from way back.
Some years ago, by chance, we found the opportunity of buying a a property that had just been built and that we could share. We put a lot of thought into re-designing the interior of the house to make it spacious and comfortable and that it could allow personal privacy. The ceilings are high and altogether there is the feeling of a loft in the cottage. It is a wonderful place to escape to, the local farmers have become friends and provide fresh eggs and vegetables. We also like the idea of making our own olive oil once a year.
