Guest comments
We met Giuseppe at the church and Simonetta at thier house. They are good people. Our stay was excellent. We enjoyed the house, the town, and everywhere we went.
We travelled from Riola to Firenze, Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia, Ravenna, and many small towns high in the mountains. We entered the sea on the east and the west coast of Italy. We also visited Ferrara, Padova, Venezia...we travelled a lot.
We tried as much food as our stomach would allow. ...and with some wine!
It was so good.
But in Italy I was maybe the slowest driver on the roads!
Grazie multo,
David and Marilyn (from Australia).
The holiday was fantastic; Giuseppe and Simonetta made us feel very welcome. Both were very hospitable and even provided us with fresh greens from the garden. The house was also amazing, both in terms of location, surroundings and Giuseppe’s artworks – we enjoyed every bit of our stay.
Jacek (Poland).

Giuseppe Rossi
About the owner
Giuseppe Rossi is a 59 years old artist. He likes to work wood, iron, stones to create original artcrafts and built houses in respect of nature and trying to recycle as much as possible. His daughter lives in London and his son in Genova (Italy). Giuseppe lives with his wife Simonetta close to the property and there are also 2 other neighbours in the "Borgo". Giuseppe doesn't speak English, only Italian, whilst his wife Simonetta does speak English.
Year purchased: 1990
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Giuseppe's family loves the area because it's natural, rural, away from the city and from crowds. The view over the mountain of Corno alle Scale (1900 mt) and the show of nature here is simply fantastic. They have a big garden with vegetables and fruits and plenty of space for Giuseppe's wood work, stones artcrafts and many other artistic projects.
Unique benefits of the property
Riola has a peculiar energy: it has an ancient castle and a modern church, it has a river and a sacre mountain. It has beautiful interesting villages hidden nearby on the hills. It's a right peaceful base where to rest after visiting Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany culture.
