Villa Micheletto is a large stone country house set in the Cilento National Park. It was originally a family home which has been sympathetically converted into apartments maintaining the character of the original building. Each apartment is individual and has its own character with separate terrace from where you can enjoy the views of the sea and surrounding countryside. It is a short drive to sandy beaches and close to the coastal towns of Santa Maria and San Marco di Castellabate from where, in the summer months, it is possible to catch boats to Acciaroli, Palinuro, Capri and the Amalfi coast. The traditional hilltop village of Perdifumo is only 4km where you can find cafes, grocery shops and a few restaurants. Meals are also available at the 'Agriturismo Eucalipto' only 500 metres up the road. The famous Greek temples at Paestum are 25km. Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Herculaneum are accessible via train from Agropoli and takes approx 90 mins.

The property has been sympathetically restored in stone using materials such as chestnut for the ceilings and decorated in a modern/rustic style.
Accessibility
The apartments are situated on different levels and the ground in places outside can be uneven so may not be suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
Each apartment has its own private terrace/garden with tables and chairs for outside eating. It is surrounded by its own land and surrounding countryside.
Coast/Beach
The closest beaches are at Case del Conte which is 5km. Further sandy beaches at Santa Maria di Castellabate are 9km. San Marco di Castellabate beaches are 11km. Further down the coast is Acciaroli (a favourite haunt of Ernest Hemingway) where there is a pretty marina and a long stretch of sandy beach. The beaches and sea has been designated the Blue Flag by UNESCO to denote clean and safe waters.
Travel
Car hire is essential and all the rental car companies are found at Naples airport which is approx 2 hrs by car. Rome airport is approx 4 hrs by car. There is a railway station at Agropoli and trains run directly to Naples and take approx 1.5 hrs. Along the route are stops at Paestum, Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Distances
The closest village is Perdifumo which is 4km. Santa Maria and San Marco di Castellabate are 9km and 10km. The magnificent Greek temples at Paestum are only 30 mins drive. The port, town and beaches at Agropoli are 30 mins drive. Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius are all approx 1.25 hrs away.
Further details
There are local shops in the village of Perdifumo and also cafes and pizzerias. There are several larger supermarkets in Santa Maria and San Marco as well as banks and post offices. Santa Maria di Castellabate has a pedestrianised thoroughfare where there are delicatessen, fruit & veg shops, clothes shops, restaurants, ice cream parlours and cafes. There are boats which run from Santa Maria and San Marco to Capri and the Amalfi coast and also down to Palinuro and Sapri in the summer months (July-mid Sept). It is possible to hire small motor boats for half or a full day. There is diving, snorkling, pony trekking, quad biking (from Agropoli port), hiking. The Greek temples at Paestum are only 40 mins away and well worth a visit.
