Located on the beautiful Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria near the the small town of San Lucido. Discover the undiscovered and hidden Italy. The raw beauty and charm of rustic small towns, towns perched on mountain edges, the lush green and hilly landscape. Enjoy regional cuisine abundant with seafood, rich pasta sauces and the locally famous and delicious tartuffo dessert. Discover the Sila National Park with its lakes and mountains which is located only 40 min away. Two separate 1 bed apartments are offered for holiday let - either on their own or on a grouped basis. They are well placed for a group or extended family as they are in very close proximity to each other whilst in separate buildings. The apartments are located on a well managed resort complex just 150m from the beach and with picturesque mountain backdrop. The apartments are new and tastefully furnished in a contemporary style and are well equipped. Support and help is available locally.

A 12 euro extra charge per person for each additional linen/towel set or for any change during rental period. An additional charge of 35 euros will be applied for cleaning on departure.

Living room comprises a large sofa bed that converts to a comfortable double bed, an armchair that converts to a single bed, dining table and chairs. DVD and 32" LCD TV. French doors out to balcony/terrace. Air-con. Kitchen has modern units with gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer.

Bathroom has shower cubicle, WC, bidet, washbasin, washing machine and hairdryer. Window giving ample natural light.

Balcony/terrace: terrace with furniture and parasol. Prime position on resort with views to sea, pool and tennis court and rear view to mountains.
Entry access - via own dedicated stairway. Bed linen, duvet and towels provided.

Accessibility
1st floor apartment has access via 21 steps - unsuitable for wheelchair access or restricted mobility. Ground Floor apartment has access via path with a gradient step and and kerb step from road. The apartment is located on a slope - so may prove difficult for wheelchair access.

Outside
The site has 2 shared swimming pools, 2 floodlit tennis courts, children's play area, bar and restaurant, private lido on beach.

Ground Floor Apartment. - has bordered garden area and a patio terrace. It has a South West aspect and a lovely spot for lazy afternoon to late evening sitting out in the sun.

1st Floor Apartment. - has a balcony terrace that is accessed by french doors from both the living room and the bedroom. The terrace has prime location on the resort, facing out to sea and has a view of the pool, tennis courts and the children's play area. The balcony is two sided and is graced with the sun all day. Both apartment terraces have lighting and furnished with table, chairs and sun parasol.

Coast/Beach
The Beach is 150m away. The beach is long, wide and sandy and has a peaceful tranquil air about it. The resort complex has a private section of the beach with deck chairs and umbrellas in place.

Golf
A 9 hole golf course located further up the coast at San Michele Grand Hotel ~ 30 min drive.

Skiing
Incredibly, the Calabrian sun soaked toe of Italy has ski resorts! There are 3 ski stations within the Sila National Park that operate from late December through to mid March. Camigliatello & the smaller La Palgiara - both 60min away, and Lorica ~ 90min away. Ski hire and schools are available.
Camigliatello has a modern ski lift to a red and blue piste of 1.8km length.

Travel
San Lucido is only 33 miles from Lamezia Terme airport (30 mins) or 180 miles from Naples Airport (3.5 hrs).
Car Hire is recommended. RyanAir operate direct flights from UK (Stansted-Lamezia).
Train travel is an alternate option. Paola (4km from San Lucido) is a stop on the main line train route that runs from Rome to Sicily. It is a 4.5hr train journey from Rome or 2.5hr from Naples. From Paola a local train can be taken to San Lucido or pick up arranged to the apartment.

0.6 miles to San Lucido. 4.4miles to Paola (nearest city and main line train stop). 24 miles to Cosenza. 44 miles to Camigliatello in the Sila Pational Park, 59 miles to Lorica & Lake Avro. 180 miles to Naples. 110 miles to Reggio di Calabria and 180 miles to Sicily.

Location provides a lovely beach holiday, but also lots more thanks to it's proximity to the Sila National Park. Enjoy the attractions of the coast - a wonderful long beach, great sunsets and exclusive feel of an area that isn't over developed. But also on offer are the attractions of lakes and mountains.
Within 5 minutes you can be driving up steep ascent into the rugged and rustic hillside and onwards to the Sila National Park with it' lakes, alpine and mountain terrain. Quad biking is available 45 miles away at Camigliatello in the Sila Pational Park. So too is mountain bike hire within the park.
The Sila National Park provides a spectacular mountainous and alpine location for excursion days out to take a break from the pool and beach. In Autumn, the alpine colours are fantastic and you can sample the peak of the mushroom season for culinary indulgence. Visit one of the inland lakes, go trekking, horse riding or just park up and take in the stunning views across the valleys and mountains.
The ski lifts at both Camiglitello and Lorica are open in the summer for some great panormic views. The lift at Lorica is a particularly spectacular ride/view on a clear day with views of Lake Avro.
Within easy reach are boat trips to the island of Stromboli and the Aeolean islands. The attractive town of San Lucido has a range of restaurants, supermarkets, a bank with cash machine, tempting ice cream parlours and a bakers with bread to die for.
For something more recreational, San Lucido is itself home to the Calabrian Surf Association and operates a surf school.
Further a field, Siciliy or the Amalfi Coast can be reached within 3 hours for an exciting day trip or short break.

Hi, I live and work in the UK in the engineering sector. I am married with 2 school age children. We love holidaying in Italy - so rich in culture, arts and food. Throw in the great weather and the drama of the Italians personal expression and interaction and you have all the ingredients for a fabulous experience each time you visit Italy.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The apartments were bought so has to have a more permanent base for Italian visits and one day get to spend more time there. We have been to many parts of Italy - the northern Lakes, the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento - but was instantly attracted to Calabria. It had that air of an undiscovered treasure. Raw beauty and rustic charm that hasn't been over developed. You can enjoy the tranquilty of the resort with access to the drama and passion of Italy.

Unique benefits of the property
The apartments are well located by their proximity to the beach. Planning regulations in Italy are now very stringent and restrict residences close to the beach. The apartments are 1km away from the town of San Lucido, which provides most of the amenities you will need - local grocers, supermarkets, a bank with cash machine, a train station, restaurants and mouthwatering ice cream parlours. The location also has the benefit of being able to provide diversity to ones holiday - you can venture inland away from the coastal beach and up into the mountains approaching Cosenza and onwards to the mountanous and alpine Sila National Park. Enjoy breathtaking views, mountain air and the natural beuaty of the Sila.
