Tenuta Santa Cristina is situated at 5km from the village of Magliano Sabina, in the heart of the enchanting Sabina Region. 50 kilometres north-east of Rome and untouched by mass tourism, this territory is still authentic and unspoilt. Its landscape of gentle hills where agriculture is in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature, is scattered with Roman villas, medieval castles, churches and abbeys. Villa Domitilla and Villa Sveva are semi-detached properties and both share a large swimming pool with private changing cabins. Villa Laurentia and Villa Mary each has a private swimming pool. In Villa Domitilla and Villa Laurentia, one of the bedrooms is conveniently found on the ground floor whose private bathroom is wheelchair accessible. The villas are situated on the cusp of a hill immersed in 100 hectares of private, family-owned land. A notable red and white wine is produced as well as a formidable extra virgin olive oil. All villas have free wi-fi internet connection.

The pool (12 x 5 mt/deep; 1,20-1,40 mt/depth) is immersed in its own garden with views of the estate. The surround is paved in terracotta where the umbrellas, deckchairs and armchairs are situated. Garden: The villa has a huge private garden with a pergola and a barbecue area. The patio, with wooden table and chairs seating 8 people, is perfect for alfresco dining. |

Villa Domitilla and Villa Sveva are semi-detached properties. Each villa is independent and private and can give hospitality up to 8 people. It is also possible, opening a gate in the garden, to connect the two villas and transform them in one single villa for a big group of friends (up to 16 persons!). Tenuta Santa Cristina put at private disposal of its guests a tennis court, 5-a-side football ground and table tennis (rackets and balls included).

Villa Laurentia and Villa Domitilla have the following accessible facilities: Entrance doorway width 110cm, main entrance is easily reachable by car, all the doors at ground floor are wheelchair accessible (90cm), bedroom on ground floor with accessible bathroom, toilet with left transfer and toilet with right, toilet grab rails on both sides, shower has grab rails , shower has a drop down chair.

A local grocery store selling home-made products and locally-culled meat is only 1500mtrs from the estate and a small supermarket is just over 3kms away.
A handy pizzeria is 500m away and a locally renowned restaurant is 1500mtrs away.
At 3 kms from the estate, you will find the famous 'Cantina dei Colli Sabini' where you can taste and buy our own wine and oil. In the unlucky event, there is also a hospital at 5 minutes by car from the villas.

Booking 3 months away, bland, was a bit of a risk but we got lucky! Villa Laurentia now seems like a second home and was absolutely wonderful! Highlights, things that make it great: the view; the sunsets on the vineyards; swallows dipping in the pool; the best pizzeria being two minutes walk. Finally, thanks for having a wonderful and very accessible villa!

Better and better! Santa Cristina is to die for. We enjoy lazy days at the pool; dinners outside in the terrace, games and good company. Magliano has so many secrets to be discovered. Restaurants and deli are printed into our memories and dreams of this absolutely fabulous country.

About the owner
Stefano, the estate owner and entrepreneur, is an agriculturalist who having consolidated generations of family farming in the Sabina area and decided a few years ago to develop the 4 villas on the estate.
He has involved his youngest daughter, Laurentia, in the management of these estate properties.
The 4 villas are part of a large farming estate and were rebuilt from an original 1930s style copied from similar properties designed by the owner's father, Count Valentino Orsolini Cencelli, in the Pontine Marshes area south of Rome. In fact, he is well known in Italy recent history for having been the one who 'drained' the marshes area which Julius Caesar and many Popes had wanted to complete.
