Master craftsmen known for their artistic flair within an ancient tradition have restored all buildings at Villa La Rogaia. Outstanding art works in marble and other stone works by the sculptor Wolfgang Sandt give this holiday home a very special touch. The surrounding landscape is a tapestry of olive groves, sheep pastures, woods, sunflower fields, punctuated with cypress and ancient stone oaks. Here, far away from your hectic everyday life you can relax amidst a natural setting.

Changeover day
From May to September changeover day is Saturday with a minimum stay of 1 week. From Mid November to April you can arrive any day, also for short term stays and weekend breaks.

Old furniture give this two bedroom apartment a nostalgic flair. Through windows framed in ivy there is a view of our large sun terrace and rose garden perched at the edge of endless rolling hills. Size: 90sq.m; groundfloor access; 1 large bedroom with king size bed and 1 extra bed upon request; 1 bedroom with king size bed; 1 kitchen/ living room with dining area, sofa bed, 4-flame gas stove, refigerator with freezer, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery; 1 bathroom with bath tub; 1 large terrace with pergola towards north west with table, chairs, sun chairs, sunshade. Central heating; sheets, towels included. Pets allowed. |

Notes on accommodation
Since we have children ourselves we specially welcome families with children. Kids will find plenty of space inside and around the house to play and discover nature. Pets are welcome. Master craftsmen known for their artistic flair within an ancient tradition have restored all buildings at Villa La Rogaia. Outstanding art works in marble and other stoneworks by the sculptor Wolfgang Sandt give this holiday home a very special touch.
Accessibility
Our holiday apartment La Nostalgia is accessible for wheelchairs: ground floor access, wide doorways (width 82 to 89cm), ample space in all rooms, specially adapted kitchen and bathroom facilities (ground floor shower, adapted sinks and toilets), easily accessible terrace and balcony. Gravel paths around the house, partly with grade. Parking at 20m from front door.
Outside
A large flower garden and sculpture park surround the house. A shared pool (4 -10 mtrs) offers refreshment on hot summer days. All apartments have private terraces and tranquil gardens to enjoy. All terraces and the pool area are equipped with sunchairs and sunshades. There is a barbecue and a pizza oven.

Lake Trasimeno with public beaches is 10 km away from La Rogaia (25 min drive).
Golf
Lamborghini Golf Club (9-hole dual start course) at Panicale at 30km.
Perugia Golf Club (18 holes) at Perugia 35km.
Special interest holidays
We offer to the following activities: guided walks around Lake Trasimeno with free tasting of farm products (free of charge, only in the months of May, July, August, October and November). Participation in the olive harvest in November. Pick your own olive oil, guaranteed extra virgin and organic. Painting, drawing, sculpting and modelling with clay (private classes with the artist Wolfgang Sandt for individuals or small groups). Truffle hunt with truffle tasting, cooking class and wine tasting. Wine tasting in some of the best of Umbria's and Southern Tuscany's wineries. Horse riding in the hills above Lake Trasimeno. Italian language private lessons with certified teacher at 30 euros per hour. Or come for our week long classes (cookery, painting, sculpting, dance Tango and Salsa, creative writing).
Travel
Since La Rogaia is right in the middle of nature we recommend to bring a car. Closest airports are Perugia (35km), Florence (115km), Rome (215km), Pisa (200km), Ancona (150km) or Forli (150km).

Further details
In the early spring, almond and peach blossoms paint the valley. The summer brings honey scented ginestra (broom). Warm August nights are filled with cicada concerts. The hills are laced with golden hues in the mild autumn, warmed by the scent of chestnut fires throughout the valleys. La Rogaia is the perfect spot for those who seek absolute silence: the next public road is 2.5km away.

We will send you further information once we have received your application (by letter, fax, phone or email). To confirm your reservation we ask that you make a deposit of 30% of the fee by banktransfer to our bankaccount in Germany or by sending a cheque. The balance must be paid no later than 30 days prior to your stay. It is not possible to pay with credit card.

My family and I spent 2 wonderful weeks at La Rogia. It provided all the sunshine and blue sky that we had hoped for during Englands cold and wet Summer. We loved the pool, The countryside that we could wander freely through and for your restaurant recomendations. I had set out needing tranquility, children for a busy child to play with and an outdoor action holiday and found it all!!

Apartment La Nostalgia is lovely, roomy and ecxcellent for a family of five (three children in one room). The whole place is beautiful, children can roam freely, the pool is lovely though quite small. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and got used to the 2.5km track to the house.

About the owner
Hello, I am Annette, and I moved with my family from Germany to Italy in 1998. Italy was always our dream and it came true at Villa La Rogaia in Umbria. We have 2 daughters, Amira and Aurora, aged 13 and 10 yrs. Wolfgang, my husband is a sculptor and you can see his sculptures in and around the Villa. We love having guests from all over the world, to welcome them like friends and to give them the best advice about beautiful places in our vicinity off the beaten track. Or to sit leisurely on our large terrace, having a barbecue or Pizza meal and glass of wine and chat about God and the world. We look forward to every new guest who arrives at La Rogaia and are happy to see many of them back almost every year.

La Rogaia offers complete relax and silence as it is far from roads and other houses, situated amidst olive groves, woods and meadows. Umbria is as beautiful but much less crowded than neighboring Tuscany and there are lively towns such as Perugia and Assisi with a rich offer of cultural events in our vicinity.
