Several beaches are within easy reach while those in search of the architectural gems of Sicily can explore the Baroque marvels of Siracusa, Noto and Ragusa which are just over an hour away, while Taormina with its Greek theatre can be reached in 20 mins. This house is imbued with charm and character, without sacrificing comfort and offers a more rewarding experience to the discerning traveller than your standard rental home. Smaller groups can rent one or two floors only and bed and breakfast accommodation is also available.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the whole property for up to 10, discounts for groups of up to 6 using 2 of the 3 floors. £650 breakages deposit. €150 weekly cleaning. £120 weekly for extra bed to accommodate 11. Central heating of whole villa - €40 per day. Air-con in living/dining room and 2 bedrooms (other bedrooms have electric fans) €120 per week if used.
Also available for long-term rental £2200 monthly. Swap considered with London or southern UK house (minimum 3 months).
Changeover day
Arrivals accepted any day of the week from 4pm, departure time 10am, later if new arrivals not expected.

Notes on accommodation
We welcome children and pets but please note that the house is furnished with antiques and due care must be taken. Central heating in all rooms. Air-conditioning in living/dining room and 2 bedrooms, other rooms have electric fans. Villa Ama is a non smoking house.

Large roof terrace, terraces, large split level Mediterranean garden, loungers. Pool 7 x 4 metres.
Coast/Beach
10 mins drive to the closest beach at Fiumefreddo-Marina di Cottone, one of only 5 'Blue Flag' beaches in Sicily. There are also attractive beaches at San Marco, Mazzaro (below Taormina) and S Alessio. Spa in boutique hotel in nearby Linguaglossa.
Golf
20 mins to 18 hole golf course Il Picciolo.
Skiing
Skiing on Etna 45 mins away. Ski lift, rental equipment.
Travel
The nearest airport is in Catania. The distance from the house is approximately 40km, driving time 45 mins. A car is essential and can be rented at the airport.
Distances
Piedimonte Etneo itself is 1km away. Has 2 supermarkets, banks. Taormina is about 20 mins away, Siracusa 90 mins drive.
Further details
We provide our guests with all manner of local information on interesting sites, restaurants. Etna is a wine growing region with some fine trattorie serving typical local food and wine. Wine tasting is also available in several wine producing estates, Sicily now producing some of the finest wines in Italy.
Booking notes
Once clients decide to go ahead and book, we ask for a 30% deposit with the balance payable 64 days prior to arrival.
