Vecchio Podere Santa Cristiana is a working vineyard with nearly 10.5 acres dedicated to growing Barbera and Moscato grapes. Situated just a few miles from the small village of Castelnuova Belbo at 689 feet above sea level our guests enjoy the tranquillity and peace of our private gardens and vineyards. We are ideally situated for travellers wanting to explore Italy's premier wine area and we can help organise wine tours and tastings if required. In addition, as we are close to major motorway links, trains and airports guests benefit from the possibility of interesting combination breaks. From here you can experience the Italian Riveria, the Italian Lakes, the Alps and of course the major cities such as Turin and Milan. Offering the flexibility of either self catering apartments or fully serviced en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation, we aim to impress our guests with our combination of excellent service and value for money.

Prices are for the property per week in euros.
Open Easter to November.
No low season, but heating included in cooler months.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, but we can be flexible subject to availabilty.
Apartments or double rooms with en-suites

Flexible self catering or bed and breakfast accommodation.
Self-catering apartments available with one or two double bedrooms. Each have there own bathroom with shower. The kitchen is open plan to the lounge area with double bed settee. Sleep a maximum of 4 (1 bed apartment) or 6 (2 bed apartment). There is an outside patio area with tables and chairs and each apartment has its own independent entrance.
Double and twin bed and breakfast rooms all with large en-suite bathrooms with showers. Separate lounge area for bed and breakfast guests and outside patio.

Notes on accommodation
B&B guests may enjoy a private bar and wine tasting area in the B&B guests lounge. We offer special events during the season - wine tours, truffle hunting, gastronomic events - see our web site for details.
Outside
Outstanding layered terrace and eco-friendly Swimming pool (11m x 5m) overlooking our vineyards, shared by guests only - open in summer. Great views over rolling vine strewn hills to the distant Alps.
Barbecue facilities may be provided on request for apartment guests. Spacious grounds with ample seating and reclining areas. Secure parking.

Italian Riviera can be reached in approx 1 hour (car) - outstanding ligurian coastline, Genoa, Portafino, Cinque Tore etc.

Ski resorts within 90 minutes drive.

Beautiful Langhe and Monferatto hills. Striking distance of the Italian Lakes (Lake Maggiore - 75 minute drive); Italian Riviera via beutiful Appenines - 1 hour. Europes largest fashion outlet mall & all those Milan fashions - 40 minutes; Turin, baroque city of amazing architecture and history also less than 1 hour away.

Santa Cristiana is in a beautiful peaceful location. Phil and Ingrid were superb hosts and we were made to feel totally at home. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and they gave freely of their time, but we do now realise just how much hard work goes into the wine we enjoy! This truly is a place to relax and enjoy the good things in life: food, wine and friends. Salute!

"Traquility found"
When setting out to stay at a working vinyard in the heart of the Piedmont wine country, I didn't really know what to expect. My previous visits to Italy had centred on the sites, famous places and objects that everyone has heard of and would like to see in person. For a view of the real Italy, to see how the people live and work, you can expect few better experiences than my time at Vecchio Podere Santa Cristiana. Phil and Ingrid, while only 'In country' for a year, have amassed a wealth of knowledge about the environs.
