It is a peaceful and relaxing location ideal for ‘far niente’, sea life, walks or tourism. In 45sqm the apartments accommodates an entrance, a living with balcony, a bedroom for two with terrace, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. The private compound with parking, pool and private access to the sea is 5 min walking distance from a ‘Relais and Chateaux’ hotel with restaurant, spa and tennis, and 5 km from the fishermen’s' old village of Porto Ercole, with its 1700's Spanish forts and its nearby modern marina of Cala Galera. A short drive brings to the Feniglia white sand beach where Caravaggio died, or to the hill towns of Pitigliano and Capalbio. Day trips include the Uccellina Natural Park, Siena, Viterbo, Firenze, and Rome plus Etruscan and Roman sites. Car can be rented at Roma or Pisa airports upon arrival.

The condominium swimming pool with deck chairs and beach umbrellas is open from mid-June to September. In the condominium, at 10 min walking distance from the apartment, there is a private access to the sea organised with deck-chairs and beach umbrellas.
Coast/Beach
The condominium has private sea access organised with deck-chairs and beach umbrellas. Only 15 min drive from the property is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Tuscany. Extending from the Argentario in a 6km crescent to the mainland, it has all the beach facilities including bars, restaurants and wind-surfing. Behind the beach is a magnificent pine forest with deer and other wildlife. Bicycles can be hired to ride through the forest and one can stop along the way to swim.
Golf
There is an excellent 18-hole golf course in a beautiful setting at 7km from the apartment.
Travel
Rome Fiumicino is 1½ hour drive from the apartment. Pisa airport 2½ hour. The Orbetello-Monte Argentario railway station, with trains to Rome, Siena and Pisa, is at 15km. The port of Civitavecchia, with ferries to Sardinia, is at 88km. Livorno port, with ferries to Corsica at 188. Car rental is essential.

Nearest villages: Porto Ercole 5km. Orbetello 10km. Porto Santo Stefano 14km. Places of interest nearby: Giannutri and Giglio islands; the Maremma country side, the sulphur springs of Saturnia 50 min. The Etruscan sites of Tarquinia 45 min. The wineyards of Brunello di Montalcino 1¼ hour. The Natural Park of Uccellina 30 min. The olive oil area of Canino 40 min. All within a day-trip distance lay the main historical cities of Siena and Rome 1½ hour. Firenze and Orvieto 2 hours.
Further details
Porto Ercole is a charming old fisherman's village surrounded by Spanish forts. It offers a wide variety of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés. All services including banks, doctors, are available at the village. Boats can be hired for daily rides along the beautiful peninsula coast.
Typical local products' open-air market displays every Monday morning near the post office at Porto Ercole and every Saturday morning on the laguna front at Orbetello.
Booking notes
35% of the rent payable on agreement and the balance with a 300 euros security deposit for any breakages and damages 5 weeks before arrival. Deposit will be returned less any damage/breakage within 15 days after departure.

About the owner
I am Italian but live in France since 20 years with my wife and our 2 daughters. Since ever we spend part of our summer holidays in Porto Ercole where every year we have the opportunity to see our Italian friends.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The apartment was originally bought my my parents in 1974. It has been completely renovated in 2004 and decorated by my wife wits her elegant and cozy style. We love the Argentario area because of its unique landscape, the proximity with charming places of interest, its beautiful sea, and the excellent food.

The exclusive quiet of the property in the middle of the well preserved Mediterranean vegetation is a unique feature. Moreover the availability of both the private rocky beach and the pool will make everyone happy.
