Lecci, cypresses and oaks encircle the house on three sides while on the forth olives open the view on the Elsa valley to the Chianti reliefs, Montagnola senese and Casalone Hill. A peaceful location only a 5 minute drive to San Gimignano.

From Florence by car: Exit Hiway at Florence "Certosa" than turn right into the speed road to Siena, exit at "Poggibonsi nord" than follow to San Gimignano (13 km). Arriving at the town of San Gimignano turn left to "Volterra, Castel San Gimignano". After 3km you can see an open cave on the right side of the street, drive straight on for 400m and turn right into the up going lane you can notice just 5m before the sign of "Hotel Pescille" on your left side. 300m and you are arrived!

Lecci, cypresses and oaks encircle the house on three sides while on the forth olives open the view on the Elsa valley to the Chianti reliefs, Montagnola senese and Casalone Hill. The House for Peace, Podere La Lastra is at 360 m.a.s.l. at 3.5km from San Gimignano on the slopes of Poggio del Comune along the road to Volterra. Ginesters, Corbezzoli and Erica sides the narrow access lane.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
This place have always been a place of spirituality and peace and we try to continue this tradition. Since we own the farmhouse we renewed it twice both in '90 and in 2006. Some history: The mail building was several times remanaged and enlarged trough centuries. There are evidence on 1864, the kitchen was builded around 1898 has bedroom of a jung married couple. The barn should be builded the same time or close to. In any case we suppose the living room-single bedroom part of the house (the kernel of it) could be referred to 1400-1600 and than enlarged. This part we suppose was the hermitage of the church. The whole hilltop was lived, that time, by several families having there mass and a crypt was founded in the romantic (XIII sec.) San Bartolommeo Church on the back of the house.
