This delightful little house in Fondi is a great base to combine, both a beach holiday and tourist visits to Rome or Naples as it is only a one hour and 15 min. journey to both cities by train, and the train leaves for both destinations every hour, otherwise you can take the little bus to the beautiful beaches, which are renowned to be the cleanest seas south of Rome. The town of Fondi is charming and claims to be older than Rome, you are immediately plunged into "old Italy ", but with all the mod cons that you are used to. The main square is bustling with people chatting in all the coffee shops and bars, while there are lots of shows and exhibitions that are on in the evening that are organized by the local council, during the summer months, you can enjoy all the pleasures of the local resort Sperlonga, which is 15 minutes away by car.

Notes on accommodation
This charming little house is ideal for couples, not really suitable for small children because of the stairs to each floor, it is is the middle of the most liveliest area of Fondi very near to the main castle square, no heating, but large ceiling fan in middle room.
Coast/Beach
Fondi is surrounded by soft gentle hills and is six miles away from breathtaking beautiful beaches of Sperlonga and coast towns, of Terracina, Gaeta, and Formia. Beautiful hilltop towns Itri, Campo di Mele, Monte san Biaggio.
Travel
Fiumicino (Main Rome Airport) and Ciampino is a two hour car journey, very well connected by train to both Rome and Naples, one hr. 15 mins each way with train that leaves every hour.
Distances
Beautiful hill towns to visit, and a coastline of the resort Sperlonga just 6 klm away.

My name is Michaela and I am English and have been living in Italy for about 30 years, I mainly live in Rome but in the summer I live in Fondi, I adore restoring old properties and making them into pleasant places which feel like home, with all the comforts but without ruining the natural character of the original location. I have an eighteen year old son, who lives with me in Rome, plus my faithful dog Raffles, who appears in a few photos!
Why the owner chose a home in this location
I love the area, because of the lovely coast towns that are very near especially Sperlonga which is beautiful but very expensive, and quite honestly Fondi especially the old historical section is so charming and has all the attractions of a real typical Italian town, surrounded by gentle hills with the convenience of a main station that takes you back to Rome in one hour and 15 mins.
