Situated on a private road, this beautiful spacious villa is set in 2 acre split level gardens in the heart of the Canale di Pirro valley just 5 minute walk to a small quiet village with choice of restaurants/bar. Within a 10/15 minute drive is Alberobello, capital of the ‘Trullo’ (and a UNESCO heritage site) which is a unique and fascinating place to explore with its thousands of Trulli houses. At the front of the property overlooking the valley and olive trees, a large covered L shaped veranda, surrounds the villa, perfect for al fresco dining or relaxing in the long hours of sunshine. At the rear of the property is access to a large private freshwater swimming pool with Roman steps & paved patio surround, with sun loungers for 6 people. Inside is a comfortable living area with TV & DVD, a separate fitted kitchen with modern appliances, fully tiled bathroom with bath/overhead shower & 3 spacious bedrooms. The beaches & small fishing villages are just 15 minutes drive.

Notes on prices
Weekly rental charges include cleaning, linen, gas, electricity, and a welcome hamper (if stay is 5 days or more). For rentals less than 5 nights there is an additional £50 cleaning charge. PLEASE NOTE: the swimming pool is open between June 1st and September 30th - other dates at extra cost - please enquire.
Changeover day
Normal changeover day in mid high season is Saturday, arriving after 3pm and departing by 11am. Depending upon other bookings we can occasionally be flexible, please enquire.

Not accessible for wheelchair uses due to the steps up to villa.
Outside
This spacious villa is set in approximately one acre of garden, with plenty of shaded outside seating & dining areas. The spectacular large 70 sqm (12 metre x 6 metre) private freshwater pool with Roman steps is furnished with comfortable sun loungers/parasols and is surrounded by grass and mature fruit trees and shrubs. To the side is a second large patio area with outside furniture and barbecue and adequate play area for children. The villa and gardens, accessed through private gates is completely enclosed and secure and a perfect place for children. There is sufficient private off road parking for several cars.
Coast/Beach
With over 400 miles of coastline, Puglia has a huge selection of sandy beaches/coves (all of which have blue flag status) and there are plenty of activities for the water sports enthusiasts. A 15 min drive from the villa and you will find you an array of small sandy beaches and coves - Savelletri, Torre Cane, Capitolo.
Golf
If it is golfing you are looking for then Puglia has 5 major courses to offer. The 5* San Domenico Golf resort and SPA near the fishing village of Savelettri, is the closest at only a 10-15 mins drive.
Travel
50 mins from Bari Airport, 45 mins from Brindisi Airport. Ryanair fly from Stansted to Brindisi and Bari, British Airways fly from Gatwick to Bari, and Al Italia fly into Brindisi via main Italian airports. Blu-Express offer cheap flights from Rome to Bari. Car hire is essential.
Distances
5 mins walk to the local village, with an Alimenteri (shop) which is open all day, a Pizzeria take-away, two restaurants and a bar.
10 mins drive to Fasano, Alberobello Locorotondo.
15/25 minutes- Martina Franca, Ostuni, Polignano al Mare, Castellana Grotte, Casamassima (large shopping centre selling food, clothes etc).

General - Puglia gets close to 300 days sunshine a year with the warm weather starting in April and going right through until the end of October. The hottest months are July and August but with two seas around the area the air does not feel too oppressive during these months, especially as the property is located some 300 metres above sea level. Spring and autumn is glorious- sunny and warm with wild flowers in abundance.
Activities: There is no limit to the amount of activities you can do in the region whether you prefer soaking up the sun, shopping, sightseeing or something more active. With over 400 miles of coastline, Puglia has a huge selection of sandy beaches/coves (all of which have blue flag status) and there are plenty of activities for the water sports enthusiasts. Beautiful architecture, ancient castles and Baroque churches can be found in all the local towns and eating is an activity in itself as the region is a food and wine lovers paradise - no matter how hard you try it is difficult to eat badly.
Surrounding Area - within 10 minutes is Fasano, a modern town with banks, supermarkets, restaurants and an interesting old centre, Locorotondo, a hilltop town of remarkable circular design with whitewashed houses and a large ‘cantina’ selling excellent local wine. Within 25 minutes is Martina Franca an elegant baroque town, ‘Cisternino famous for its gastronomy, and hilltop Ostuni known as the ‘White City’ as it glows day and night. Nearby is Castellana Grotte famed as the most spectacular limestone caves in Italy, the archaeological ruins of Egnazia, a Graeco-Messapian town and seaport, and a Zoo Safari Park, ideal family fun. ). Further afield, Matera, a town home to 13th century cave dwelling --'sassi' - used in the film 'The Passion' many with original cave wall frescoes, is one hour and a half and Lecce, famous for its unique architecture and known as the 'Florence of the South' is an easy hour

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The location of the house was definitely a reason for buying being just 15 mins drive to the beautiful town of Alberobello and only 10 mins drive to the coast. Also its not too remote, we have lovely neighbours, a shop and pizzeria within walking distance.
Unique benefits of the property
We have spent many weeks holidaying at the house since 2007 and still have a list of beaches and places to visit in the area. Obviously now we have such a wonderful pool area its even harder to get the children in the the car and out!
