800 plus square feet new white tiled apartment overlooks the stunning Mediterranean Sea. Large balcony (big enough for a small party). View is straight out over the town, past the Byzantine era fortress and onto the azure water. To the right is the medieval ‘Old Town’ and to the left are the mountains and the never ending coast. Scalea has friendly people, great food and reasonable prices. Pompeii is 2 hours north (you can take the train or drive) and Sicily is to the south. If you're looking for a warm, sunny and relaxing vacation with a spacious place to stay, then give our place a try. Enjoy and we hope to hear from you!

Changeover day
Changeover and arrival/departure times are flexible. They both depend on other renters coming and going.

| Bathrooms: | En-suite to bedroom 1 with shower. Bedroom 2 with shower (services 2 remaining bedrooms). |
| Kitchen: | Fully functional kitchen with stove, large fridge/freezer, coffee maker and microwave. |
| Utility Room: | No utility room, no land line phone. |
| Living Rooms: | Living room is spacious with a 3 seater futon and 2 extra comfortable chairs. TV with built-in DVD player. |
| Other: | Kitchen table opens up to fit 8. Four chairs and chairs on balcony can be brought in and used. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Clean towels, bed linen/blankets and toilet paper provided. |

Accessibility
Our property lies atop a long incline and once the building is reached, it is on the 2 floor (ground floor and 1 floor beneath) at the top of a spiral stiarcase.
Outside
Outside is a large drive for parking.
Coast/Beach
The beach is a 5 minute walk down the hill and through the village. The beach is rocky at the top and sandy by the water and the further south you walk, the sandier it becomes. The water is beautiful.
Travel
Rome airport is roughly 5 hours, train or drive. Naples and Lemezia (Lemezia is south of Scalea) are approx 2 hours.
Distances
The village of Scalea is just below the apartment a minute walk. Other villages can be reached in minutes to the North and South by driving, taking the train or walking along the beach.
Further details
Stroll into the Old Town where there is a small museum with ancient artefacts and La Playa restaurant (delicious spaghetti with clams and 2 orders plus 2 sodas and bread is 20 euros!). The Byzantine fortress is normally open for visitors and is worth a look.

A 10% deposit is required when the renters are ready to secure the apartment.

We bought the apartment in Scalea because of the beauty of the area, the view from the balcony, and Scalea's proximity to other major areas in Italy.
Unique benefits of the property
From Scalea, we have enjoyed lovely train rides to the Amalfi Coast and Pompei as well as beautiful drives along the coast to towns further south. In Scalea, we relax on the beach, eat delicious and reasonably priced food, tour the Old Town and the Byzantine era fortress, and stroll the pedestrian shopping area, to name a few activities.
