Our 200 years old typical Sicilian stonehouse is named 'Timparuci'; it is located at 2km from Modica (UNESCO Patrimony of the Humanity) in the Sicilys historic south-east district, best known for the Baroque architecture. It is the ideal place for discovering the enchantment of Modica, the suggestive charm of Noto, the suggestion of Sicily, the wonderful Mediterranean sea. Enchanting scenery, where hills stretch to the sea as far as the eyes can see and century-old carrubo trees dominate the landscape, we give hospitality to our guests and our friends in a family environment. The whole property is in 2 hectares. The swimming-pool is carved into the rock of the countryside. From the pool set you may enjoy a fascinating view on the Mediterranean Sea.

Notes on accommodation
Heating and air-conditioning is available without extra cost. Maid service on request, as well as food shopping, and cooking. Baby sitting available on request. Dogs are welcome at owner's risk and at additional cleaning fee weekly.
Outside
The houses are not fenced as guests are able to walk anywhere as they are on a private estate of 2 hectares border on a public natural site where you can jogging, go mountain biking or simply enjoy nature. The private swimming pool is 8m x 13m. Deep is from 1.20m to 2,50m. A covered gazebo provides shade, sunbeds and deck chairs are provided.
Coast/Beach
Distance to wonderful sandy and rocky beaches is 10-15km (Marina di Modica, Sampieri, Donnalucata, Pozzallo, etc).
Travel
Distance to Catania airport is 120km. Pozzallo Port is 15km. New Comiso airport 30km expected to open soon.
British Airways and Airmalta offer frequent direct flights from London to Catania.
Busses from Catania airport to Modica take about 1 1/2 hours, the latest one leaves at 9.30pm. Busses form Palermo to Modica take about four hours. A hire car offers the greatest flexibility for those who might want to visit other parts of the island. The roads are empty and people are extremely kind.

There is a restaurant a short walk from the house, and supermarkets is about 2km away.
Bus to old town of Modica is in 2km. The baroque town of Modica is situated on the slopes of the Iblei mountains. Each part offers a distinct panorama with picturesque alleys, stairways, stunning churches and elaborately decorated palaces. Gargoyles peek at the passer-by from every balcony and rooftop. In the old town a number of chocolate manufacturers produce the famous cioccolato modicano. Spring and autumn are much warmer than in England.

Minimum 3 day rental. There is no need to pay anything on advance, no cash deposits required. Payment payable upon arrival by cash (euros). The prices are for 2 people. Extra bed: 100 euros per week (20 euros per day) for each person. Discounts for long winter lets.

Wonderful place, Beautiful People !
My children and I, came to Sicily from the U.S., we traveled around the whole island, and stayed in various places. Our favorite place was Antica Masseria Timparuci. It was the first place we stayed that we felt we could just relax, instead of wanting to leave and explore. We felt right at home and we were taken care of by the owners and thier help. We would highly recommend these accomodations and would want to come back to stay for a longer time. The town is famous for it's chocolate, so if you are going to Sicily, this place is a definite place to stop, relax, eat chocolate and see some amazing Churches! We stayed at other B&B's, a hotel and hostel's, this place is a better price for the quality and serinity you will recieve. S.G. august 2009

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We are from Modica and we love it; despite being ravaged by earthquakes in 1613 and 1693 and floods in 1833 and 1902, Modica has maintained some of the most beautiful architecture in Sicily, in the Sicilian Baroque style. The city possesses a large Baroque Cathedral dedicated to San Giorgio. There is another church dedicated to San Pietro in Modica Bassa.
There are some beautiful beaches at 15 kms and a great range of bars and restaurants.
Another treasure of this area is the countryside with its typical landscape and the genuine food.
There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible with Catania airport less than 2 hours drive away.
