Situated in an idyllic setting, "La Farfalla" (the Butterfly) is a recently-built family villa set in the midst of its Mediterranean gardens boasting magnolia, oleander, bougainvillea and hibiscus bushes and a vast array of fruit trees and vines - and so much more. Relaxing under the palm trees by the private swimming pool or sunbathing in the garden or on the balcony you have time to reflect and appreciate that you are in the perfect holiday setting. In the evening the place is transformed into a sensory fiesta, with the magnificent views of the sunset over the ocean, the pervading mixture of scents from the eucalyptus, pines, lavender, rosemary, and Old English rosebushes. The villa is in a very private setting situated off the Strada Litoranea, frequented mostly by holidaymakers and local farmers. In summer you can pick up your home baked bread or roasted chicken only five minutes away and for avid golfers the course is 10 minutes by car. Nearest agriturismo walkable.

There exists an all-inclusive baby package consisting of stair gate, high chairs (2), travel cots(2), play pen, car seat, baby changing module, potty. Travel light and let baby enjoy all the comforts of home! Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.

Notes on accommodation
Although the pool is fenced off, children should be supervised very carefully and the owner will not take any responsibility for any accidents occurring to guests or their visitors during the vacation.The very large shaded terrace overlooking the pool is an ideal eating area and is welcome relief from the hot summer sun.We offer a "baby package" consisting of travel cot, high chair, car seat, baby bath, stair gate and play pen at £50 extra per week.
Accessibility
The villa itself has not specifically been constructed for wheelchair users but is wheelchair friendly. Entry can be accessed via the terrace by the French windows. There is a wet room with shower and WC in a building at the back of the villa which is accessible and can accommodate wheelchair users. Further information can be supplied by the owner.

Beautiful Mediterranean gardens, ample patios at front and back of villa, balconies from 2 double bedrooms, overlooking swimming pool, barbecue, outdoor tables and chairs, loungers, private swimming pool 13' x 6'. Table tennis table.
Coast/Beach
Spinicci beach: 3km, 4 minutes by car. Possibility for windsurf lessons and other watersports.Tarquinia lido: 9 km, possibility to rent bicycles and pedaloes, join aqua gym classes and sample the local cuisine at one of the hundreds of restaurants or trattoria along the lido. Small group waterspinning classes available at agriturismo pool 6 km from villa.The Saint Agostino beach, very popular amongst the young, is about a 20 minute drive from the villa.
Golf
The nearest golf course is a 9 hole course and is 10 minutes by car (roughly 7 km). To play as a visitor, golfers must already be a member of a club (better to bring your membership card along) and have a handicap of 70 (on 18 hole course).
Travel
Ryanair, Easy Jet, Virgin, British Midland Baby, Wizz, Alitalia, Jet2, all fly into Ciampino or, as the case may be, Fiumicino airport. Ciampino is about a 1-1/4 hour drive and Fiumicino just under an hour. From Pisa airport it's about a 2-1/2 hour drive but it's really easy and is a straight superstrada all the way. Good train link takes you right to Tarquinia railway station, a 10 minutes drive from villa. Car essential.

Tarquinia: 9km. Etruscan tombs: 11km. Montalto di Castro: 9km. Rome: 90km (one hour by train to San Pietro). Grosetto: (Tuscany 60 km). Viterbo: (Etruscan town of great beauty) 30 km. Vulci (Etruscan ruins, nature reserve, medieval castle): 15 km. Tuscania: 30 km. Pisa: 2-1/2 hours. Florence: 3 hours.
Further details
During the summer months the Community "Mondo Nuovo" a kilometre from the villa, makes its own bread and offers a selection of home produce (honey from their own bee hives), spit-roasted chicken, aubergine bake, roast potatoes (you are advised to order it as it's all in great demand) and home grown fruit and vegetables. There are two local wine merchants about 7km away and you can taste the delights of their local vintage. They have their own traditional table wine (excellent quality/price) and superior wines at very reasonable prices if you really want to treat yourself. You have a choice of supermarkets both on the outskirts of the town and in the industrial zone. In the other direction (going towards Grosetto) you have Montalto di Castro, which is only about 8 km away from the villa. There too there is a beautiful beach with all the amenities available. The local Tarquinia market is held on a Wednesday and Saturday morning in the city and at the lido. If you wish an even wider choice then you can try the market in Civitavecchia (28 km away) which is held every morning except Sunday. It's easy to get to and there is a free navette service every 15 minutes from the entrance of Civitavecchia direct to the market, so no problems parking.
Booking notes
10% within one week of reservation. 90% balance plus £250 returnable breakages/damage deposit to be paid 8 weeks before start of vacation. Deposit will be returned within 14 days, following satisfactory property inspection and return of all keys to owner. Villa is strictly a non smoking environment.

'What a find! This is a great place for a holiday. A beautiful, family-friendly villa, so comfortable and relaxing. Lots to do and see. We love to go into Tarquinia for lunch then come back and relax by the pool. My favourite thing is sitting on the cool terrace in the evening. Our 4 children just love it-so much space to run around. A visit to Aqua Felix at Civitavecchia is a must for a fun day out. A great base for visiting Rome too - it's only an hour away by train. We will definitely be back. Well done Mrs Labate' .
