Villa Olivia is an attractive, family-run property, situated about 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of the little town of Forio, Ischia's most western resort. The villa stands back from the road in a large interesting garden of vines, cacti, olives, citrus fruits, roses and palms. Throughout the summer geraniums and bougainvillaea cascade colour everywhere. Amongst the trees there are two pools, a large outdoor swimming pool and a covered 'thermal' pool filled with natural spring water of between 30°C - 34°C. The villa is divided up into self-contained studios for 2 people and two-rooms apartments which sleep 5 people. Each apartment has a kitchenette or separate kitchen, shower room, and balcony or terrace with sea or mountain view.

| This apartment comprises two bedrooms, two bathrooms, the kitchen and patio/terrace facing the garden or a large terrace facing the vineyards with enough chairs and tables. Sleeps up to 5 people. Another similar Unit is composed of 2 studios on the same floor, door to door, each with its own bathroom. Sleeps up to 5 people. One room has double or twin beds, the other has a double and a single bed, or 3 single beds. Each studio has a balcony with magnificent view and kitchenette corner, equipped with cupboards, refrigerator and gas hob. A table and chairs are provided for eating either inside or on balcony. The bathroom has a shower and the apartment has ceramic tiled floors throughout. A large wardrobe provides plenty of hanging and storage space and is equipped with extra blankets for cooler nights. | |

Amongst the trees there are two shared swimming pools, a large 12 x 5.5m outdoor swimming pool and a covered 'thermal' heated pool filled with natural spring water of between 30°C - 34°C. Deck chairs and sun beds are available for all.
Coast/Beach
15 minutes walk to the free sandy beach named 'Chiaia'. A beautiful beach with nice views and is suitable for children. Can be reached with push chairs and is very safe.
Travel
Upon arrival at Naples airport, you will need to get to the harbour - Molo Beverello, where there is a frequent ferry (traghetto) and hydrofoil (aliscafo) service to Ischia. Depending upon your time of arrival at the airport, you can catch either the 3S bus or the new ALIBUS to the harbour (which is cheap and takes about 30 mins) or take a taxi. At Molo Beverello, you can take an aliscafo to Forio or a traghetto to Ischia Porto at the north-eastern end of the island.

Forio: The largest town on the island, Forio is full of interesting shops, excellent restaurants and numerous pavement cafes where you can sit and watch the world pass by over a coffee, aperitif or ice cream. There is a daily market and several good bookshops - W H Auden spent much of his time here, as did Henrik Ibsen and others. The town has a picturesque harbour full of fishing and sailing boats from where you can catch the hydrofoil to Naples or round-the-island pleasure trips.

About the owner
I am Giuseppe and I was born and grew up in this beautiful Mediterranean town: Forio, on the western coast of the island of Ischia, in the gulf of Naples.
On the western side of the island are the most fabulous sandy beaches which are reachable or by walking in 15 - 20 minutes or by bus. A couple of very good restaurants are on a walking distance and same for the supermarket which is only at a few steps away.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
I love this area because I was born here and grew up here. Is a small town and very relaxing with its small fisher's harbour and the downtown with pavement cafes and shops.
After have worked for many years as sailor, travelling all over the world, I decided to retire and build this beautiful Mediterranean villa, fulfilling my desire to have an own self catering property, with a beautiful swimming pool. I made sure to maintain part of the existing vineyard to continue the family tradition of farmers. On September of each year we make the grapes harvest and all the guests of the Villa are warmly invited to participate.
Unique benefits of the property
On the western side of the island are the most fabulous sandy beaches which are reachable either by walk in 15 minutes or by bus. A couple of good restaurants are within a walking distance, same for the supermarket which is just a few steps away. When you desire to relax completely, than sunbathing on the pool side is the best you can achieve.
