Apartment Biccanello is one of five apartments in the Casale dei Rosoni (Castle of the Rose), once a 6th Century watchtower and once the house of the 'keeper of the roads' and is painted in the customary colour of terracotta to stand out against the landscape. The Casale is set on its own small hillock surrounded by a patchwork of olive groves, grapevines and distant historic hilltop villages. Being on the edge of the Sibillini National Park, it is a popular location for walkers and cyclists. The apartment offers a large double bedroom, a cosy sitting room, a newly-fitted kitchen, a luxurious bathroom and a private garden. There is a shared swimming pool, gardens and ample parking within the gated grounds. The sleepy village of Rotella and the slightly livelier village of Castignano are 2 and 3km away respectively. These villages provide all the necessary facilities - restaurants, supermarket, post office, pharmacy, bakery, butcher and banks.

Changeover day is flexible - just enquire. The apartment may be accessed after 3pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

Kitchen: Newly fitted light oak kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, large fridge/freezer, table and chairs, iPod docking station, chestnut beamed ceiling.
Living Rooms: Sitting room with large sofa, two arm chairs and side tables, chestnut beamed ceiling and doors leading to the garden.
Cleaning/towels/

Bed linen and towels are provided (but not beach towels). The apartment is cleaned and linens are replaced once a week.

The apartment is a 20-30 minute drive from the golden sandy beaches of the Adriatic. The beaches are backed by restaurants, shops and ice-cream parlours.

Travel
Ancona and Pescara Airports are within 1 hour and 20 minutes from the apartment. Use of a car or car hire is essential.

Further details
This part of Italy is relatively undiscovered by tourists so it is advisable to carry an Italian phrasebook if you do not speak Italian. The local people are very helpful and will patiently listen to all sorts of fumbling with their language - so just have a go!

Booking notes
A 20% deposit is required when booking the apartment. Final payment is required 8 weeks prior to departure. A separate damage and cleaning deposit of £100 is required 8 weeks prior to your holiday which is refunded after your holiday assuming there are no serious breakages and the apartment is left in good order. Should you wish to book less than 8 weeks before your holiday, please contact the owner for a special arrangement.

About the owner
Steve and Julia Bicknell, a specialist decorator and a fresh food manager for the 'Supermarket of the year'. We have three sons, 18, 23 and 25 - all have flown leaving us the opportunity to have some 'us' time - hence our beautiful apartment in Le Marche. We live our lives at high speed - always something to do, someone to please so we really treasure our time at Rotella - no phones, no TV, no newspapers, just peace. We aim to retire in about 7 years and look forward to being able to just hop on a plane and stay for as long as we like.
