Located on the banks of the Lima River in Ponte a Serraglio, Bagni di Lucca, 16 miles north of Lucca in a quiet corner of northwestern Tuscany. The villa retains the traditional features of cotto and tiled floors typical of the region and is comfortably and tastefully furnished. Outside, a beautiful stone terrace provides an ideal space for reading, lounging or outdoor dining overlooking the stately 'Villa Fiori' next door, and the sound of rushing water from the Lima's rapids provides a soothing backdrop. You can walk to everything: the restaurants and bars of Ponte a Serraglio village are just a five minute walk, and Bagni di Lucca town centre is only a 15 minute walk. For larger groups, the villa can be rented together with the neighbouring house which sleeps seven. Additional services available (see details below).

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. Shorter-stays and longer-term rentals available at rates to be negotiated. 100 euros cleaning charge payable upon departure or with final payment. There is a 15 per day charge for central heating from October through April payable with final payment.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday with afternoon arrival and morning departure. Other arrival and departure days considered depending upon availability.

Accessibility
Bedrooms are on the first floor (upper floor) and require climbing stairs to reach. The villa has a private driveway for parking. There are stairs from the driveway to reach the garden and house.
Outside
Beautiful garden with stone terrace. Outdoor dining table seating six to eight people, barbeque, two sun-loungers and two deck-chairs, small bistro table and chairs. The garden provides an ideal space for reading, lounging or outdoor dining overlooking the stately 'Villa Fiori' next door, and the sound of rushing water from the Lima's rapids provides a soothing backdrop.
Coast/Beach
Viareggio and the Versilian Coast are only about thirty miles away, where you can enjoy the beaches of this popular resort area.
Skiing
The famous ski resort at Abetone is only one hour's drive away.
Travel
The airports at Pisa (40 miles) and Florence (55 miles), with frequent international flights, are within easy reach each about one's hours drive away. While the villa is located in town and within walking distance of bars, restaurants, banks, and many shops, a car is recommended to visit the surrounding area and to see the historic sights of Tuscany.

Bagni di Lucca provides an ideal base to explore Tuscany, with the major historic sights and cities within easy reach: Florence (about 1 hour's drive), Lucca 25 minutes, Pisa 50 minutes, Siena and the Chianti Region 90 minutes and Arezzo 90 minutes. You can also simply enjoy the charms of this historic town and the surrounding area or relax in the delightful garden. The ski resort at Abetone is also one hour's drive away.

The spa town of Bagni di Lucca sits in the Val di Lima a beautiful green area in northwest Tuscany surrounded by hills and mountains dotted with villages. The town was once famous for its thermal springs and frequented for centuries by writers, poets, artists, noblemen, politicians, saints and popes. During the peak of its popularity in the 19th century, famous names such as poets Byron, Shelley, Browning, writers like Dumas, musicians such as Strauss, Listz, Paganini, Puccini along with other personalities of the day all could be found in Bagni di Lucca.
The town has amenities such as bars, restaurants, banks, post office, many shops, a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, supermarkets, chemist, famous theatre which attracts important productions. The town itself has many interesting and historic sights, and the landscape surrounding the town is verdant and woody. The inhabitants are renowned for their relaxed and friendly attitude.
Bagni di Lucca has a large public swimming pool fed with water from a thermal spring and surrounded by deckchairs, sun umbrellas and sun loungers. The pool is open to the public for a small charge. For tennis players, the Bagni di Lucca tennis club is located in Viale Roma where courts can be reserved. You can take advantage of the thermal spas. Termi Bagni di Lucca offers a thermal pool and spa as well as various wellness treatments. The ski resort at Abetone is only one hour away. Rates denominated in euro, and payment is also accepted in Pounds Sterling or US Dollars at prevailing exchange rates to be agreed. 500 euros refundable cash security deposit payable on arrival or with final payment. 20% non-refundable deposit payable at time of reservation. Payment in full required at least eight weeks prior to arrival date. Owner accepts payment by cheque or bank transfer in euro, pounds sterling or US Dollars at agreed prevailing exchange rates.
