|
This apartment is suitable for 2 guests only. It is on the top floor (with lift) of a modern group of award-winning architect designed buildings on the Giudecca. This island forms the southern part of the historical city of Venice. There is a fine view to the South across the Lagoon with a new canal below. Close to the Redentore church it is within easy reach of the Palanca vaporetto stop and from here water buses run constantly to all parts of the city, Lagoon islands and Biennale sites. There is good food shopping and a big choice of restaurants and bars close by and the area is full of local Venetians rather than tourists. The apartment is light and sunny and has air-conditioning and central heating as required included in the price. The rooms are comfortably furnished and have high ceilings, wood flooring and French windows. The bathroom is in marble. Available all year round, long lets can be considered, and there is complete flexibility over booking dates.

Guest comments
We really enjoyed your flat it was so comfortable to come back to after a hard day's site seeing and put our feet up!
We particularly enjoyed the area as it was "real" and full of children, dogs and cats and people living there. We really felt part of the city.
My first visit to Venice and it was fabulous. Thanks for all your help and advice.
Owner profile
About the owner
We are Jane and Felix Blunt, are English and have lived in Italy for a long time. For 30 years we ran privately owned charter yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean and when we decided to look for a base in 1979 we chose Venice because we thought the Venetians would understand our way of life. This led to a long and happy association with the city and when we gave up the sea to become farmers and moved to Tuscany we decided to retain a small flat in Venice.
Year purchased: 2004
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We found a new award winning development on the Giudecca which was very much in keeping with the rest of the city. The apartment had a view of the lagoon and was over a canal. It was quiet and away from the tourist areas busy with families and small shops selling local produce. The connections with the rest of the city were very good.
Unique benefits of the property
It is only a few minutes to the nearest vaporetto (water-bus) stop and from here you can easily access all the main sites of the city and travel across the lagoon to Murano and Torcello or to the Lido. Because the apartment is our own base we have many reference and guide books available and a small collection of videos. The flat is comfortable and it is very pleasant at the end of a long day of siteseeing to rest one's feet and cook a meal in comfort.
