Nestled amongst olive, pine, fruit and palm trees is our Farmhouse and separate Old Olive Press with a beautiful large pool and patio, a charming garden and an additional large shaded patio area with a granite table and BBQ where you can enjoy evening meals alfresco. Set in 2 acres of unspoilt quiet Sicilian countryside. Your choices are unlimited- either relax by the pool or on the beach, read in the shade, go sightseeing, shopping or enjoy traditional Sicilian cooking in the various local restaurants. Alternatively, you can sit outside at one of the local bars in the piazza enjoying an espresso and join the locals watching the world go by. Nightlife is also well catered for with numerous bars, nightclubs and discos within 10km. Within 5 minutes of the property there is also a Natural Reserve forest with BBQ pits with direct access to one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The Farmhouse and Cottage are available for rent on a self catering basis and are ideal for families.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the properties per week in Pounds. Rates are based on on a weekly, self-catering basis (8 days, 7 nights). Either can be rented separately or together. Note: if you rent both the farmhouse and the Olive Press at the same time we offer a 100 Pound discount on a weekly basis. Pro rata rates available if not staying for advertised duration-subject to availability. We are flexible with dates and will do our best to assist you.

We operate flexible change-over days. Please check date availability on calendar.
Notes on accommodation
Properties are gated and set on 2 acres of Sicilian countryside. Swimming pool is for renters/owners use only. English speaking owners on site available if needed. Prices quoted in Pounds are for the Farmhouse and Press per week based on self catering. Both are available to rent either separately or together. Note - if you wish to rent both the Press and Farmhouse together at the same time we offer a 100 Pound weekly discount. This might be ideal if you wish to share costs and bring friends/ family members. The smaller Olive Press is set approx 20 metres away from the main residence so might also be suitable as an independent unit for your teenagers etc. If you opt not to rent both then the other remains available to another family and the pool will be communal. Fresh linen and towels supplied weekly. A welcome package of coffee, tea, milk, sugar, water, fruit juice, olive oil and an assortment of fresh fruit is supplied upon arrival. Both units have a TV and DVD.
Accessibility
The Farmhouse and Olive Press are not suitable for wheelchair users at the moment.
Outside
New in ground 12x6m pool with large patio area and sea views. Pool is set approx. 20m from the Farmhouse and Olive Press (pool is not fenced and therefore may be unsuitable for very young and unsupervised children). Additional outdoor patio under shade of carob and berry trees. BBQ and large outdoor mason built table with ample seating. Gated entrance with plenty of free parking space. Main patio with garden furniture naturally shaded by cluster of trees. BBQ and large granite table allows for memorable Sicilian alfresco evenings spent dining and enjoying the warm weather. Views of the Mediterranean from the pool, main patio and garden with breathtaking sunsets. Charming views of the garden and pool from both units. You are welcome to pick any produce growing on our land at the time of your stay which can include lemons, oranges, figs, olives, prickly pears and pomegranates. Our own olive oil is available to buy. Outdoor activities include badminton, soccer ball, frisbee etc.
Coast/Beach
Punta Braccetto, with its two family-orientated clean sandy beaches are a 2 minute drive away. Six other clean sparkling beaches in the area are between 5-10 minutes away.
Santa Croce, a town for all your immediate shopping needs, is 5 mins away. Major shopping malls, restaurants and nightlife, etc. are 10- 15 minutes away.
The quaint fishing town of Donnalucata is within 15 mins and has a daily fresh fish market selling the day's catch. A short drive to Modica for original Mayan chocolate.
Golf
Europe's largest and newest golf course and resort at Donnafugata is just 15 minutes away and opened in July 2010. Two 18 hole courses-One designed by Gary Player and one course a 'links'. Also at this 5 star resort with beautiful grounds and gardens is a spa- all set in unspoilt Sicilian countryside. Golf clubs available to rent at the course. Green fees and spa rates available on the Donnafugata Golf resort website.
Travel
Closest airport-CATANIA-(CTA) 80 minutes from us by car, well-served by several airlines incl. Easyjet, British Airways, Air Italia (Alitalia) etc.
Palermo/Trapani airports - Further away but pleasurable and scenic drives from us well served by several airlines including British Airways, Alitalia, Easy Jet and Ryanair from numerous departure points. A map with directions and full contact details is supplied upon receipt of deposit. Car essential and car hire available at all airports.
Distances
3km from all family - orientated beaches and the rustic town of Santa Croce with supermarkets and shops for all your needs.
5km from the famous town of Punta Secca and Marina di Ragusa with harbours, beaches, restaurants and bars open til late. 25km to Ragusa Ibla, Scicli and Modica, the three most important centres of Baroque art recognised as world heritage UNESCO sites.
Day trips to Agrigento-Greek temples. Caltagirone-ceramics and art. Day return trips to Malta from Pozzallo-45 mins away
Further details
Swimming pool is open mid May- September subject to weather conditions and is cleaned twice a week. The local town of Santa Croce offers fresh produce, supermarkets, a weekly market (Thursdays), petrol stations and banking facilities. A short drive to Marina di Ragusa and Donnalucata offers more superb beaches and long promenades, the latter offering a daily fish market. Several day trips are available in the area for ceramics, art, UNESCO sites, quaint and rustic Towns, Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa offering good shopping and interesting architecture. Local farms offering for sale cheese, olive oil and wine. Mount Etna is located near Catania airport and offers an interesting day out. Drive up close to the summit and then take either a cable car or 4 wheel drive vehicle to the summit. Spectacular views during the day and at night. Highly recommended. Several Greek temples at Agrigento are worth exploring and most are in superb condition. Locally, there are several free,clean and sandy beaches with bars and restaurants. The beach at Punta Braccetto offers the chance to have one foot on the sand-which represents the last piece of Europe-and the other in the water which is the beginning of the African continent. Nightlife-bars,discos etc. are all a short drive away. A 45 minute drive to Pozzallo where you can connect with a catamaran which takes you to Malta and return the same day with Virtu ferries who operate this service. Malta has several British High Street stores and an abundance of excursions including harbour cruises, fishing, markets etc. which can be purchased from numerous outlets in Malta.
Golf- 15 minutes by car is Europe's newest and largest golf resort at Donnafugata. Opened in July 2010. Two 18 hole courses plus a spa in this 5 star resort set in manicured grounds surrounded by unspoilt Sicilian countryside.
Garden maintenance for our two units is carried out weekly. We can also offer a babysitting service-details on request. Pets by arrangement.
Booking notes
Booking Policy: 25% deposit required to confirm booking. Balance payable in full 8 weeks prior to arrival. A 200 euro cash deposit upon arrival refunded on departure subject to inspection. Full booking conditions and form will be emailed to you upon request. To take advantage of our discounted rate for the smaller Press which must be in conjunction with renting the Farmhouse please ensure you clearly state this on the booking request form.

I thought you might be interested that the bird I saw with black and white stripey wings and a crest near your gate was a Hoopoe. I found it in a bird book we have. In Sicily it only inhabits the very south eastern most tip. I've never seen one before!

Property is close to everything- beaches, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, beautiful countryside. A beautiful swimming pool on-site for renters use only. The residences offer peace and tranquility with just a distant noise of a neighbours dog barking and a cockerel that crows at 3 in the afternoon for reasons only known to itself. Wide open skies-no tall buildings or hotels to block the views. No ambient light in the evenings which allows for a truly spectacular view of the milky way at night and in the summer shooting stars can be seen. Agricultural area-unspoilt and tranquil.
