On the slopes of Monte Subasio, In the commune of the historic pilgrimage centre of Assisi - home of Saint Francis. 3 storey independent medieval country house. The house has a large garden with numerous fruit trees including walnut, peach, apricot, cherry,pomegranite etc.There are patios and paved areas and numerous beds of roses, shrubs, plants and a separate grassed area. Panoramic views can be enjoyed of Santa Maria degli Angeli and across the valley to Perugia and beyond. Within walking distance there is a bar, supermarket, bakery greengrocer, bank, pizzeria and restaurants. A few minutes drive away are many restaurants catering for all requirements from cheap and cheerful to noted in good food guides - Assisi, Spello, Foligno, Perugia etc. It is possible to rent the entire house or either the top 2 floors (main house) or the self contained lower apartment separately (with possible shared use of gardens and 12m by 5m pool with owners).

Preferably Saturday or Sunday but this is flexible. Maximum 3 weeks (unless by prior arrangement). Minimum 3 nights.
Departure by 10 am, arrival after 4 pm.

Notes on accommodation
Mains gas, electricity and water. Cot, highchair and baby car seat available at no extra charge-please request these when booking if required. Young children are very welcome but will require constant supervision. Bookings normally Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday but we can be flexible to fit in with cheaper midweek flights where possible.
Please note main house for 6-9 and apartment for 2-4 can be booked separately if required. Please contact us for prices.
Accessibility
The house is built on the side of a hill. It has stairs to all three levels with a few steps from road level into main house and steps down to apartment, lower patio and garden, and pool. The garden is not totally enclosed.
Outside
Hillside gardens with fruit and olive trees. Patio with garden furniture and barbecue for dining al fresco. Gardens on two levels-one area has morning sun the other afternoon sun and views of beautiful sunsets. Panoramic views up the mountainside or down and across the valley below.
2007. Swimming pool 12m by 5m plus roman steps. Depth 1.2m shallow end 1.8m deep end.
Coast/Beach
Lake Trasimeno - ½ hour drive-beach areas for swimming. Ferry trips across the lake. Boating etc.
Adriatic and Mediterranean coasts approx 2 hour drive either way.
Public swimming pools - 2 open air - Assisi and Spello - both approx 3km away-open during Italian school summer holidays mid/end June to end August.
Travel
Although not essential a car is highly recommended to get the best the area has to offer.

Further details
From December 2006 direct Ryanair flights from Stansted to Perugia airport 3 times a week in winter more flights in Summer months (approx 20 mins drive away)(nb. the house is not in flight path).
Booking notes
Deposit 25% to confirm booking - balance due 6 weeks before arrival by cheque or bank transfer either in Sterling or Euro equivalent.
Security deposit cheque of £200 (or 300 euros) to cover for damage or breakages to be held and returned at the end of the stay subject to satisfactory inspection.

About the owner
We are a married couple both just about 60. We took early retirement when we were both 50 so we could spend our time living in Europe and travelling when we feel like it, our home is in Assisi in Italy but we spend most of the winter ski season in Sainte Foy looking after our guests at the chalet.
We have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren ranging in age from approx 6 months to 11 years and 8th grandchild due end of July!
