'We went to Abruzzo to buy a holiday property. We were overwhelmed by the charm of the Villa, the apartment and the sheer pleasure of Robert and Linda, our hosts: they obviously enjoy every single day of their life in Vesteia and know all the local tips to give their guests.' - Mr and Mrs Pugh, Wolverhampton.
'Look on Facebook! I couldn't wait to tell as many friends as possible about this fantastic holiday place. I have never been to a 'rental' property with such style and comfort. Bring it on: I'm back in the Spring!' - Claire Brazier, Herts.
Owner profile
About the owner
Linda and i have lived out here permanently now for 3years. We have 3 very people friendly dogs that share the same hobby - sleeping. Having reached 'late middle age', we decided to leave the UK for new adventures' and found our love of most things - food, wine, music, history, a slower more rustic life, etc. - drew us to Italy.
Being here permanently does help guests with questions they might have, where to go?, where to eat? etc., as well as being able to offer a personal touch with our welcome pack and maid service.
Year purchased: 2004
Why the owner chose a home in this location
One of the major requirements for our location was to be totally immersed in Italy and its culture. Where YOU are required to learn some of the the language. Where there are no high rise holiday hotels. Safe promenades to walk.
The Villa had to have a view, which it has, to the sea, as we are 2000ft up in the Gran Sasso National Park. It had to be convertible into into 2 apartments with their own entrances, they have. It had to have space, it has 5acres with woods and olive grove to roam. It needed to be safe for children, it has masses of play area and the woods of course to explore and make camps. It had to be close enough to the airport and beach, it is, 25mins by car. It must have plenty of local restaurants, it has of which 3 can be walked to. And it had to be quiet, It is.
Unique benefits of the property
The property is ideally located for all amenities. There are many local restaurants, 3 within walking distance. The nearest village shop is 2kms away with the supermarket 15kms in Penne. The airport and beach are only 25mins away yet you are located far enough out to feel totally on your own. Being in the national park you are on the slopes of the Appenines with snow capped mountain tops 45mins away. There are few places you can ski in the morning and sunbathe on a beach in the afternoon depending on time of year. The area can offer 2 ski venues locally and a lot more in the region.
There is a lovely quiet swimming pool just 5mins away in Civitella Casanova if you don't fancy the beach. Or go to the Grotto at Stiffe, or just go off and explore the region.
