Both apartments are very light and spacious with lovely balconies protected by sun blinds and offering incredible views over the sea and unforgettable sunsets. Situated one next to the other but totally independent, they can be rented out together or separately. The apartments are furnished with taste , paracticality and care and offer a comfortable stay. Direct access to the beach via outside stairs down the hill and in season (end May to end September) there are a few shops and restaurants in the resort, one great seafood one directly on the beach. Portu Maga is situated on an unspoilt stretch of Sardinian coastline, offering not only a succession of stunning beaches with crystal clear waters but also lovely inland scenery with green hills and mountains (hence its name Costa Verde 'the green Coast') extremely rich in history and mining archeology, with preserved flora and fauna and a hiker's paradise. The nearest small towns are Arbus and Guspini approx. 35 min drive away.

Notes on prices
Please note: Prices for property A6/2 are based on 2 people occupancy. For 3 and up to 5 people please note there is a surcharge of 150 euros per week.
Changeover day
Changeover day is normally on Saturdays but flexible. Minimum rental period: 1 week in June/July/August. Shorter periods possible out of season, please ask owner for quote.
Notes on accommodation
Child cot and high chair available on request free of charge. The accommodation is situated on the side of a hill, facing west, so gets a welcome cooling breeze even in Summer. A free standing fan unit is provided in both apartments.
Accessibility
Property not suitable for people with mobility problems due to the number of steps to reach it.
Outside
Both apartments have lovely balconies with adjustable sun blinds. Outdoor table, chairs and armchairs and cushions are supplied. Both balconies have a storage cupboard where beach umbrellas, cool boxes and beach chairs as well as extendable clothes horse to hang washing are stored for client's use.
Coast/Beach
Direct walking access to beach via stairs down the hill side (or you can pick up your car from the car park and drive 1 min down). Many other local beaches within 5 minutes by car. The stunning, unspoilt UNESCO listed huge white sandy beach and dunes of 'Piscinas' are only 15 minutes away by car driving very slowly down a picturesque dirt track.
Travel
Nearest airports: Cagliari, approx 1 hour 45 min away. Alghero, approx. 2 hours 30 mins away. Low cost airlines: Easy jet, Ryan air.
Distances
Nearest towns: Arbus, Guspini, approx 35 min away up through green hilly countryside. Oristano: approx 1 hour away. The whole area, coastal and inland offers a wealth of historical and archaeological sites as well as lovely unspoilt scenery with the impressive Arcuentu Mountains nearby for out of season hiking.
Further details
From June to September there are a few shops open in the complex such as small supermarket, gift shop, pharmacy, beach accessories and sundries hardware. There are two restaurants/bars open, one of them all year round offering very good value for money Sardinian specialities, sea food and pizzas. All shops/restaurants take credit cards. A couple of miles down the road there is a small seaside village with another bar/restaurant. Banks and petrol stations are only available in Arbus or Guspini. The beach side restaurant organises quad bikes excursions to the sand dunes and the country side and boat trips to explore the coastline. There are sun beds for rental on the beach.

About the owner
My name is Catherine, I am French but married to an Englishman and now living in the South of France after many years spent in the UK.
I have strong links with Italy and love the island of Sardinia. I speak fluent Italian as well as French and English. I have been (easily) convinced to buy property there by my closest friend who happens to be Sardinian and made me discover a totally unspoilt and truly stunning part of the South West coast of this fascinating Island.
My husband and I spend several weeks a year, mainly out of season in one of our apartments and therefore have acquired extensive local knowledge that we would be pleased to share with our guests!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The Costa Verde area of Sardinia is truly wonderful and totally unspoilt, far away from crowds. Even at the height of the season it is easy to find half empty beaches and peaceful corners. This part of Sardinia has not known any tourist invasion and has remained authentic. The beaches, all fine and sandy, are stunning and easily accessible and in Spring and late Summer you can be in blissful solitude.
Buying a property in this secluded and pretty resort has only been made possible through my knowledge of Italian and my local contacts as it has remained an authentically Italian holiday retreat with very few foreign tourists although cheap flights to Cagliari from most of Europe are quickly putting it on the map!
Getting to Portu Maga takes about 1h1/2 by car from Cagliari airport.
Unique benefits of the property
Both apartments are part of a very pretty self contained resort built on the side of a hill above the sea. The beach is accessible on foot from the apartment and there is a choice of several easily reached sandy beaches minutes away.
The view over the sea from the balcony and the sunsets are unforgettable.
There is easy walking access to all facilities such as the 2 restaurants and the small parade of shops including a supermarket.
