Sleeps up to 32. The park also boats a large swimming pool with a wonderful view of San Gimignano, an outdoor hot tub, a tennis court/five-a-side football pitch and a large area, equipped with a barbecue grill and a wood oven for pizzas, as well as a playground with swings, slide, table tennis, and volleyball net. The particular position of the property, as well as offering tranquility and privacy with its unique panorama which has been unchanged since 1300, also makes it the perfect starting point for pleasant excursions in the surrounding area; Florence and Siena are about half an hour drive away. The unique atmosphere of Pastine will enchant you, making you forget the stress of everyday life and providing the peace and relaxation you’re looking for.

The prices shown are special, and are valid for bookings made before 08th January 2012. Sheets and towels are supplied with weekly change of linens (swimming poll's towels not included: we rent them upon request for a small extra charge). The units are usually rented on a weekly basis. In low and mid-season or as last minute , bookings may also be accepted for periods other than a week, usually for minimum 5 nights, after owner's approval. Please contact us for more details.

Saturday. Flexible during Low-Season or in special cases. Minimum stay: 5 nights (low-season only or previous agreement with the owner); 1 week in high and mid season (some flexibility for last minutes, after agreement with the owner).

100 square meters apartment that suites for up to 4 people. Located on the first floor of our Castle, it is definitely our most charming unit. It offers a modern, professional gas kitchen, complete with 5 rings, a large oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher. The large dining/living room has a decorated wooden roof and TV/DVD set (upon request). 1 full bathroom. The spectacular Master Room is large, with wooden roofs and red tinted walls. The second bedroom is also large, with high ceiling, and offers 2 single beds. Both the master room and the kitchen have a door-window which opens on a huge 125 square meters private terrace (exclusive), where you will find chairs, table, etc. to be able to have breakfast/dinner/lunch or just enjoy some sunbath over there. Use of centralized laundry and ironing facilities in dedicated area, as well as BBQ area, tennis court yard, playground for kids, table tennis, volleyball net. It is located on the top floor of the Castle and offers an open space with living and dining area as well as a modern kitchen, complete with 4 rings/electric/glass stove, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave; TV/DVD (upon request). In addition, Mansarda has 1 master bedroom, 2 bathrooms with shower, toilet, bidet as well as a cute PRIVATE terrace (11 square meters), with a beautiful 360 degrees view of our countryside. 2 additional bedrooms with lower ceiling may be opened upon request. The terrace is equipped with chairs and table to enjoy dinners and breakfasts. The Master bedroom have net on its window. Use of centralized laundry and ironing facilities in dedicated area, as well as BBQ area, tennis court yard, playground for kids, table tennis, volleyball net. Being such, they do not have standards or categories that are internationally recognized, indeed they reflect, in their architecture and furnishing, the local traditions and the personal taste of the owner. This is precisely the kind of holiday we offer: the chance to partake in the culture of Tuscany, living in the same surroundings as an inhabitant would. In order to live this experience in the right spirit, it is important not only that the holiday-maker accepts but also that he will be able to appreciate the differences in the properties we are proposing in comparison with those where he normally lives.

Outside
The property is situated inside a spectacular park which, with its romantic paths and breathtaking perspectives, provides the opportunity for pleasant walks immersed in nature.
The 9m x 18m swimming pool has areas reserved for each apartment and fully equipped with deck chairs, sun beds and pergolas.
The use of the tennis/five-a-side football ground in synthetic grass is free during daily hours; close by there is also a ping-pong table, a volleyball net, child's swings and slide.
Not far from the property there are excellent restaurants where you can enjoy dishes that have made Tuscan cooking famous throughout the world. Just a few minutes away by car are supermarkets, shops and sports activities (golf, horse riding, bike hire etc…) which our staff will be pleased to help you choose from.

Nearest beach: Livorno, Vada and Versilia at about 82 kilometers.

Golf
Golf Club Ugolino at 35km: The clubhouse was built by Architect Gerardo Bosio who designed a structure fully functional and enjoyable to this day. It is one of the best examples of rationalist architecture and is cataloged and protected by the Department of Fine Arts. Ugolino is largely synonymous with Italian golfing history; on its fairways along the Via Chiantigiana many competitions and national championships have taken place and players of both national and international reputation have played there.

At Castello di Pastine you may swim, play tennis, soccer, table-tennis, volleyball, and enjoy nice walks inside the private park. The playground for kids is located on a nice, quiet area of the private park. Nearby Castello di Pastine there are many activities such as: horse back riding; golf; bowling; cinema movie theater; pubs; live music. In several
periods of the year in the nearby towns there are many 'sagra' (typical town festivals with fireworks, live music, medieval representations). There are typical family owned restaurants close to us (in Vico d'Elsa, S. Appiano, Petrognano, as well as Barberino Val d'Elsa, Tavarnelle and San Gimignano) where you may taste the Tuscan food, or even take a cookery class, if interested. Wine tasting tours are a must! In our House book in the apartments there are addresses and directions to all of them as well as other interesting information on things to do in our area. Castello di Pastine is the perfect place to start excursions in Tuscany!

Travel
Nearest international airport: Firenze Peretola at 34 kilometers.
As an alternative, many of our guests choose to land either in the airport of Pisa or Bologna (both of them are at about 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from Pastine).
Nearest ferry port: Livorno at 84 kilometers.
Nearest railway station: Poggibonsi at 8 kilometers.
Nearest motorway junction: Superstrada Firenze-Siena at 8 kilometers.
Car: necessary.

Distances
Castello di Pastine is situated in an excellent position a little over 30km from Florence and Siena, both of which can be reached within half an hour. About 11km away is the fascinating town of Certaldo, a medieval fortress and the native city of Boccaccio— one of the fathers of Italian literature and the author of the Decameron. San Gimignano, the well-preserved medieval city of towers is just 15km away, while Volterra, a historic Etruscan city, is just 43km.

Throughout the year the Tuscan towns and cities are animated by fairs, festivals, theme-celebrations and historic re-enactments from the middle ages with street markets, suppers, tastings and fireworks.

"We stayed in apartment 2B and it was beautiful. The setting is quite surreal with amazing views over the Tuscan countryside. There is everything here to make your stay enjoyable. We have two small children who had plenty to do whilst we were able to relax, walk in the woods or play tennis. They provided us with a very informative booklet of things to do in the area and reviews of all the local restaurants. Location wise it is very close to get to Siena, Florence and San Gimignano. It is extremely quiet and private and we would definitely return here if we are in Tuscany again. Thank you for a lovely time".
