Notes on accommodation
The air conditioning is partial only i.e. units in 2 bedrooms, fans are also provided. As the stone walls are very thick the villa is cooler than a more modern home, Generally there is a period of about 2 weeks in August when fans and partial A/C are required. The property is ideal for children but it is always necessary to ensure that young children are supervised near the pool. For heating there are open fires in 3 rooms used only early spring and autumn and full central heating in the winter. Gabriella worked as an interior designer in London and provides her own magic touch but as a home rather than a showpiece.
Accessibility
The villa is an original farmhouse substantially modernised in 1996. There are no special features for the aged - however the ground floors very large bedroom was found very suitable for an elderly grandparent who managed the single step up to the shower room without any difficulty. Access to the shower room is easy no doors, just a fixed glass screen.
Outside
The swimming pool is 12m x 7m divided into the normal depth of 1.1m to 2m which is 5m x 12m and a shallow walkway 30cm deep which is 2m x 12m. Very popular for both children and adults. The large gazebo is equipped with ample lounge chairs, sun beds and a fridge with centre light. There is a portable barbecue nearby. The remaining gardens have been created from the original farm land into the gardens of 2 acres which incorporate the lawns flower beds and tree planting, an olive grove, orchard small vegetable garden. The gardens have hosted many large gatherings and there is ample parking off the main drive. The gardens around the villa are secured with fencing and wrought iron gates at the entrance. A further 10 acres of the original land, stretches up the rising ground and is maintained as "Bosco" (woodland). The gardener attends mornings only and is responsible for maintenance lawn cutting and pool cleaning, often leaving fresh vegetables at the villa door.

Further details
The villa is just 5km to the South of Todi. Our handbook identifies the location of shopping areas and restaurants nearby which are within easy reach and this include 2 of the best and most popular restaurants both having a large car park. There are 5 supermarkets situated outside the walled town of Todi and free of traffic. One of these is a discount supermarket. There is also the Coop and others are well recommended. In this area called Capucini you will find banking - 2 supermarkets, 2 petrol stations, an Internet location, hairdresser (unisex) and stationers. The post office is in Todi and a smaller village. There is a theatre in Todi with seating for 1000 and there are frequent activities and concerts. We receive many compliments on the handbook. At Monte Castello di Vibio 20 mins from Todi you can visit what they claim is the smallest theatre in the world it seats 100 but is built in the theatre tradition with stalls and 3 tiers of private boxes. The hand painting to the ceilings and walls is very beautiful. There are wonderful open air markets giving incredible value the best of these is at Marsciano open Monday all morning. There are shopping outlets for buying shoes and other items if you really want to spend your holiday looking for bargain. There are also art galleries and museums but one fascinating activity is the SAGRA a festival in which Italians celebrate the harvest from May until August: each small town will prepare a feast followed by music and dancing. Example "Festival of the Goose" is celebrated at Bettona and is a wonderful evenings entertainment with great food on long tables and bench seating in the central piazza. Following the meal you walk on to another square for music and dancing and from this high point you can see the lights of Assisi at night only a few km away.

The information book that you put together for us was very useful, thank you. The restaurant in Fiorte was lovely. The mozarella pizza with potato and sausage was the best. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely home. P.S. I love the cat we named her Beauty.
