Refrancore is a lively and friendly village 12 K from Asti, and is close to the wine areas of Barolo and Barberesco. The house is on the "strada di vino", the tourist road map for visiting the wine area's of Piedmonte. The house is very old, and has 4 floors, starting with the underground cantina, which has lovely old domed ceilings, and brick walls. The ground floor is a open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with a wood burning fire. The first floor has a large double bedroom with a private bathroom. A corridor leading to the next floor, which has a large double bedroom and private bathroom. Perfect for 2 couples or a family. It is fully furnished with period pieces, with all kitchen appliances, dishwasher, washing machine, sheets, towels etc, all you will need to bring is your clothes and personal effects. There is private parking in the courtyard at the rear of the house. ADSL high speed internat access is available.

Price quoted is for 2 people. Price for 4 is €660 per week, or €120 per night.
There is a €5 surcharge per night per extra person.
There are gas and electricity meters at the house, these will be read at entry and on exit.

| Bathrooms: | The bathroom on the 1st floor has a handbasin, shower, WC, bidet and a washing machine. The second floor bathroom has a handbasin, WC, bidet, and a large bath with sliding glass doors. Both have been fully renovated with new fittings. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen has been completely renovated, but kept in the Piedmonte style. Large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, fan forced oven and gas top plates, microwave, all utensils that you need. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room has 2 double seater leather lounge chairs, radio, satellite TV, DVD and CD player. The kitchen is equipped with a marble topped table and 6 chairs. |
| Other: | The underground brick lined cellar, accessible from the kitchen, has a large wooden table, and six chairs. The wine racks are stocked with local wines for your selection. |

David and Coleen are two Australians who moved to Italy 10 years ago. They have restored two houses in the Asti region and welcome guests to learn about and discover the delights of Piedmonte, as yet a truly not yet 'turistified' part of Italy.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
This is the area of Italy where hordes of tourists don't go! Prices are very cheap compared to Tuscany and other parts of Italy. Piedmont is the food and wine capital of Italy, even for Italians!
Unique benefits of the property
Our house is in the 'centro storico', or historical centre of Refrancore. It boasts 4 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 supermarkets, butcher, fresh pasta shop, sweet and cake shop, and many more. casa Regina is 20 meters from the main street. Very little English is spoken here as it is not on the tourist trail, however the locals are very friendly and willing to help strangers.
