The complete absence of progress makes the atmosphere even more unreal. La macina is strategically located between Orvieto and Viterbo at the borders of Latium, Tuscany and Umbria. You can easily reach ancient cities of the Etruscan civilization like Tarquinia. Orvieto and Viterbo 20km, Todi, Assisi and Perugia are also very nearby. You can also enjoy the Bolsena's lake 14km. Rome is just 1 hour driving and Siena 1½ hour.
