La Chiocca is a large apartment within two newly restored former stone farmhouses. The traditional appearance has been retained and combined with a light, spacious interior with all modern comforts for a restful holiday. The location is ideal for both relaxing on the terrace or beside the pool, and for quick access to Umbria's most popular destinations. The front door opens to a large, beamed-ceiling, terracotta-tiled living space with luxury kitchen and dining at a massive rustic table. All of this area opens to a large dining terrace with views of the vineyards and lovely old buildings that are a feature of the Niccone valley. Beyond the living area is a spacious master suite with bathroom. The rear half of the apartment has 2 more bedrooms, a bathroom and a utility room. La Chiocca apartment is the end unit of the small development so it enjoys a high degree of privacy and no passing traffic. The apartment is perfectly suited to couples travelling together, or to family groups.

Changeover day
The usual arrival days are Saturday or Sunday but whenever possible, guests' dates will be accommodated. Minimum stay is one week, but beyond that, the length of stay can be varied to suit.

| Living Rooms: | The living room has a big comfortable corner suite and an armchair, television and internet connection for guests travelling with a laptop. Unlimited internet use is included in the rental. For cooler evenings, there is a large fireplace. |

Notes on accommodation
La Chiocca welcomes families and it is ideal for a holiday with small children because it is on one level, has a grassy play area and no passing traffic.
Accessibility
Although the apartment was not specifically designed for wheelchair users, it is suitable for guests with limited mobility. A car can be parked close to the front entrance, which has level access and a wide door. There are no internal stairs and there is level access to the large terrace across the front of the house and the smaller terrace to the side of the house.
Outside
The large pool with shower and sunbathing terrace is shared with the other apartments. Outdoor chairs, tables and loungers are provided for guest use. Guests at La Chiocca have four sun loungers for their exclusive use.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Fano on the Adriatic coast, but closer at hand are the beaches around Lake Trasimeno where windsurfing and boating are available as well as ferry trips to the islands and boat tours of the lake.
Golf
The wonderful Antognolla golf course is less than half an hour's drive and it is open to visitors.
Special interest holidays
A special feature of La Chiocca is its proximity to the local vineyard which has a restaurant, wine sales and a wonderful butcher's store that sells meat of the butcher's own production as well as delicatessen items such as cheeses, sauces, conserves and pasta.
Travel
Perugia is the nearest airport and it is only half an hour away. Other suitable airports are Rome Fiumicino and Rome Ciampino, Ancona, Florence Peretola, Bologna and Pisa.
Distances
There are two restaurants and a butcher / delicatessen within walking distance. The nearest small food stores are within 2 kilometres at Spedalicchio and Niccone. The town of Umbertide is 15 minutes away and offers a full range of shopping, services, and restaurants. The towns of Gubbio, Sansepolcro, Citta' di Castello, Cortona, Deruta, Castiglione del Lago, Assisi, Spello and Spoleto are within an hour's drive. Siena and the wine towns Montepulciano and Montalcino are a little further.
Further details
Umbertide has a bustling weekly produce market and it's possible to dine very well with very little effort on the wonderful local fruit, vegetables, cheeses and meats and wine. The local vineyard is within walking distance and wine can be purchased directly from the vineyard, which also has a restaurant with outdoor dining in summer. On request, a local cook will prepare meals at the apartment. Cooking classes, walking and cycling tours, and wine tours are available in the area.
