Beautifully Appointed Suite Apartments for 2 - 4

Each has a double bedroom, luxury bathroom (en-suite), a sitting room with very comfortable sofa bed and a fully equipped kitchen. One of the apartments has its own private terrace the other a romantic style four poster bed. We can also provide you with a relaxing breakfast, lunch and dinner twice a week - After all, you are on holiday. Notes on accommodation
All guest bedrooms are available for a minimum of 2 nights stay.

The majority of the accommodation offered has individually controlled air conditioning - which during July and August is particularly welcoming. Two of the guest bedrooms are garden rooms which are naturally cool and offer the added charm of a semi private terrace and garden area.

Children over 12 are welcome, however Casa Portagioia is a place where guests relax in a tranquil and peaceful setting. You can view a video of Casa Portagioia see weblink.

Outside
Our 14 x 7 meter (40' x 23') solar heated and chlorine free swimming pool provides panoramic views of the valley and the small Tuscan hillside villages nearby. Here you can sip a glass of wine and truly relax. The surrounding valley - adorned by olive groves, vineyards and undulating hills was referred to by the last Duke of Tuscany as “Valle Di Dio” (Valley of God).
2007 saw the re-instatement of the vineyards - Sangiovese and Merlot vines should prove a fantastic combination for some awesome Tuscan wine in ... a year or two.

Special interest holidays
There a a number of courses throughout the year. 2008, we hope to offer a cooking and wine appreciation week by a Michelin starred chef. Also there are plans for a Yoga week in Tuscany and a painting week in Tuscany.

Travel
The use of a car in Tuscany is essential.
There is a train station at Castiglion Fiorentino with trains to Florence and Rome.
The closest airport is now Perugia - about a 45 minute drive. Then, Florence (55m), thereafter Pisa (99m) and Rome (130m).

Distances
The main town is Castiglion Fiorentino, a medieval town. From here you can visit Cortona and Arezzo which are about 15 minutes away or, well within an hours drive you are able to visit many Tuscan and Umbrian towns such as Florence, Siena, Assisi, the Chianti region, Montepulciano - to name but a few. There is also a train station at Castiglion with trains to Rome and Florence.
