Appartamento Piastringa is the top floor of a Tuscan Villa, with fabulous views towards the nearby village of Lucignana. There is Sky TV, DVD and a wonderful pool, shared with the friendly and non-intruding owners. Although an apartment, the property is quite private. There is a dishwasher and laundry room. Bagni di Lucca 13km, Barga 14km, Lucca 32km, Pisa 59km and Florence 106km. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns with many activities available in this beautiful part of Tuscany.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible depending on availability as we appreciate savings can be made on midweek flights. However in high season it may be necessary to fix the changeover day. Arrival time after 2.30pm, departure no later than 10.30am.

Some areas of the 10 acre grounds are quite steep and may not be suitable for very young children.
Accessibility
One step down to the living area from the car parking area. Possible to reach the pool area by sloped driveways.
Outside
Large terraced grounds with olives, fruit trees and vines. Sun-loungers and tables and chairs with sun-shades provided. Shared pool.

The nearest beach is at Torre del Lago di Puccini, 57km and one hour by car.
Skiing
Abetone Ski Resort is 45 minutes by car. All usual facilities. Season extends typically from December to April.

The nearest airport is Pisa, 59km.

The nearby spa town of Bagni di Lucca has banks, several lovely restaurants, 3 supermarkets (the largest being Conad). Market days in Bagni di Lucca are Saturday and Wednesday and in Fornoli Friday and Tuesday. Bagni di Lucca also has a thermal complex based upon 19 springs of water containing salts of sulphur and calcium reaching natural temperatures of up to 67f(54c). Global Village - holistic medicine and wellbeing centre at the Villa Demidoff and Bagni di Lucca Terme/Jean Verraud offering all the usual beauty treatments plus plunge pools, a swimming pool filled with naturally warm spring water and grotto filled with natural steam emitted from the walls of the cave. Within easy driving distance is Lucca where you can hire bikes/tandems/Tagalogs/buggies to cycle round the city walls. Pisa - more than just the tower, Cinque Terra UNESCO world heritage site - 5 lovely fishing villages dotted along a turquoise coast line accessed by a footpath or train journey hugging the cliffs, Florence of course, Collodi - Pinoccio park and birthplace of the author of Pinoccio, Grotto del Vente - fantastic natural caves with guided tours hourly in all languages. Barga - with its jazz festivals and Orrido di Bottri - Italy's largest natural gorge with a network of hiking trails, golden eagles and wild boar on the doorstep.

20% non-refundable deposit required on booking. Payment in full required (cleared funds) at least 8 weeks prior to arrival date together with security deposit of £100. Security deposit to be refunded in full within 14 days of departure date if no deductions for breakages are due. Payment by sterling cheque/draft or bank transfer only. Piastringa is our home and we live in the apartment downstairs. However, we recognise that you value your privacy and you will find us to be very unobtrusive, although right there if you need help or advice with anything.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Piastringa has wonderful views yet is not too remote or isolated. It is also about 1km from any other house and you can have more or less a complete Tuscan hillside to yourself.

Piastringa is a relaxing and private place. Yet we are close to excellent restaurants, places to visit and things to do. We can advise you on some wonderful places to visit during your stay, or if you prefer to just hang out by the pool, we can make sure you are not disturbed!
