Mulino di San Loreto is a stone built mill lovingly restored using local traditional materials. It now benefits from gas central heating, double glazed Chestnut windows, a wood burning stove and open fireplace making it ideal for winter stays. That said, being stone built the Mill is cool during the hot summer months making it the ideal retreat for any season. The bedrooms are beautiful, each with its own luxury en-suite shower room. We are ideally located just 5 mins from Bagni Di Lucca where you will find a range of superb restaurants and bars, shops, thermal spa + thermal swimming pool and sports facilities. Should you wish to 'eat in' your hosts Mel and Gill are happy to provide home cooked evening meals or barbeques on request and are always happy to meet your requirements to make your holiday a very special one.

Kitchen: Extremely well equiped large farmhouse kitchen with large gas hob and electric oven.Combination microwave, dishwasher,washing machine,marble worktops, pine table & 6 chairs.
Living Rooms: Cosy dining room with table and 8 chairs.

All linen and towels included, changed once a week or for nominal charge can be changed more frequently! The cleaning and changeover is provided once a week free of charge, additional cleaning available at nominal costs.

Notes on accommodation
The property is centrally heated with double glazing and log fires in the winter months. The Mill is built in stone so remains cool in the summer months.
Please note central heating if required is charged at 15 euros per day. Logs for the open fire are free.
Evening meals and barbeques can be provided on request.
Smoking is only permitted outside.

Accessibility
The mill has its own driveway, leading to the parking area. The mill is on three floors and the sitting out areas are on different levels, it may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Children are welcome but due to the nature of the property it is up to guests to exercise parental responsibility for their children.

Outside
Set in its own 10 acres woodland in a wooded valley, San Loreto has a wealth of charm at all times of the year,sometimes snowy winters through to long hot summers. There are two sitting out areas with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas and barbeque; we also have a lovely sun bathing area with loungers and beautiful views over the river Serchio, a lovely spot to enjoy a cool relaxing drink (or two!). There is an above ground pool in the garden providing a welcome cooling off opportunity through the summer months. Beach towels are available at a nominal cost.

Coast/Beach
The Versillian coast is 35 minutes away with fantastic golden sandy beaches, marinas, lovely wide avenues with cafes, shops and bars.

Skiing
Abetone is approximately 45 minutes away, providing dozens of slopes for all abilities. Abetone has all usual amenities.

Travel
Pisa airport is 45 minutes away. Car hire is not essential but is recommended to get the most from your stay.The local train and bus services are excellent and also very economical, very reliable and only a 10 minute walk from the Mill.

Distances
The famous walled medieval city of Lucca is a 15 minute drive away, Florence with all its attractions only 1 hour and Pisa just 45 minutes.

Further details
On driving to the mill you will pass the famous medieval Ponte della Maddelena (the devils bridge) dating back to the 10th century. Lucca is a famous medieval town sitting inside its own defensive walls which are still in tact, there is a Roman amphitheatre which has been changed into a lovely famous piazza, Cathedral, churches, shops, restaurants, bars and a market 15 mins away.
We are 5 minutes from Bagni Di Lucca well known for its medieveil spas which are still used for relaxing skin treatments. Also Alberga Terme has a recently restructured thermal swimming pool open to non guests. There is an outdoor public pool with sunbathing area, cafe, tennis courts, horse riding and canoeing on the fast flowing river only 5 minutes away! The fantastic Leaning Tower of Pisa is just 45 minutes away, and the wonders of Florence are only an hours drive however we would suggest getting the train from Borgo a Mozzano taking you directly to the centre avoiding the hassle of parking in the busy city. Viareggios golden sandy beaches are just 35 mins away with loungers and brollies available.

We prefer payment by bank transfer, but we also have a PayPal account... Deposits will be lost if cancelling within 7 days of arrival date. Please note all enquiries answered within a few hours or the same day.

About the owner
Gill and Mel endeavour to make your stay with them as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Both have previous experience in the hospitality business. They like to give guests plenty of privacy, but are available to answer any questions and give local information on the area.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
When we first saw the Mill, we immediately fell in love with it. It was a disused paper Mill in a very sad state of repair. We saw the Mill's potential, to make it into a beautiful home and holiday accommodation. We spent a lot of time on the drawing board deciding how it would best work and then proceeded to get all the Italian permissions. The work started the following year. We had a very good local geometra, who kept in regular contact with us in the UK. We spent the next 2 years flying backwards and forwards overseeing as much as possible. We eventually got the home we dreamed off. The location is perfect for holidaymakers, having all the main Tuscan attractions not too far away. In the winter months you can enjoy the ski resort Abetone, or relax at the local spa...

Unique benefits of the property
The benefits that guests enjoy are all the modern comforts of the Mill, being able to eat alfresco on a beautiful warm summers evening and enjoying a barbecue. Also being able to sunbath and cool off in the pool on long hot sunny days, with different areas to sit and enjoy the countryside. In the winter months, after a day exploring, or skiing, you can come back and enjoy a roaring log fire with a glass of vino. Also we have many good restaurants nearby, the beautiful spa town of Bagni di Lucca, lots of hilltop villages to explore. The local train station is within walking distance to the Mill, giving access to Lucca, Florence, Pisa and Viarregio. Again these places are not too far to visit by car. The local people in the area are very friendly and more than helpful to the tourists.
