Nestled amongst a sea of shimmering olive trees just a few minutes from the beach and the beautiful Acaya golf course, Casa Arras in San Foca makes a perfect base for golfing and exploring this unspoilt region yet to be discovered by tourism. The beautiful cathedral town of Lecce (the Florence of Apulia) is 20 mins drive to explore and admire the decorative and baroque architecture of the old town. Alberobello is another must for explorers where street after street is lined with white washed 'trulli' characteristic of the region.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is not suitable for children under the age of 6 due to different ground levels with steps in the garden.
Smoking is not permitted in the property.
Accessibility
The property is not suitable for wheelchair access or young children (due to changing levels and steps).
Outside
Outside the property is a shed where you will find sun loungers, table and chairs with umbrella and a small portable barbecue, 4 beach chairs and a beach umbrella. There is also an outside shower to the side of the property.
Coast/Beach
The beach and marina at San Foca is only 2km away. The rugged coastline has little coves as well as long stretches of sand and the sea views are breathtaking.
All along the coastline to the right and left of San Foca you will find lovely beach towns, San Catalda, Rocca and Otranto to name but a few. Or you can travel right down to the end of the heel to Santa Maria di Leuca, passing amazing scenery along the way - approximately a 11/2 hour drive and well worth a visit.
Golf
For those who perhaps want to mix exploring, sunbathing and a good game of golf Acaya Golf Club is only a 15 minute drive from the property (5km). This is an 18 hole, par 71 course and challenging! English is spoken here and the 19th hole serves a very good meal. The golf course was re built during 2008 and is a 'must' if you enjoy a game of golf!
Travel
Brindisi's modern airport is a 1 hour drive to the property and Ryanair fly here on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There is an option to fly into Bari which is covered by British Airways and Ryanair and is approx 2 hours easy motorway driving. Car hire is essential for the property and all major car rental companies have bases at the airport.
Distances
Melendugno can be found 2km inland from the property and has banking/post office facilities.
Vernole is located 3km inland - both are ideal for local shopping.
Further details
The nearest major supermarket E. Leclerc and shopping mall is approx 30 mins drive away near Lizzanello. Lecce is the nearest major town approx. 20 mins drive from the villa where you will also find banking and post office facilities. The pace here is slow and relaxed, but it does change throughout the seasons. At the height of the season in July and August San Foca transforms into a buzzing hub where many Italians come for their summer break. Out of season you can still find restaurants offering excellent fresh local dishes, particularly from Thursday - Sunday.
Booking notes
A £100 deposit is required to secure the booking, with the balance to be paid 8 weeks before departure.
Any bookings less than 8 weeks in advance require payment in full at time of booking.

Hello, I am Myra. When I retired in 2006 and bought my tranquil little part of Italy I did not expect to still be learning about it now – it’s so diverse! The great thing is that you can have peace, quiet and relaxation, you can explore and experience the culture or you can enjoy the beautiful coastline and beaches - it’s your choice. I am still trying to do all of these things! If you love golf, as I do, then you must treat yourself to a round at the recently rebuilt (2008) golf course at Acaya - great 19th hole too!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
At Casa Arras I enjoy the fact that I can feel far from the bustle whilst in actual fact - if I wanted it - the bustle is within easy reach. I am very lucky and have a delightful, bubbly local lady (I don’t know where she gets her energy from) and her lovely husband for whom nothing is too much trouble to look after my house and garden – both are happy and helpful people. Whatever time of year you visit you will not be disappointed – there is calm and peace out of season and lots of ‘buzz’ during high season – and Casa Arras is comfortable and well equipped for both.
