Casa Mosaico is located in the small village of Paterno, close to the hilltop town of Colmurano and very convenient (10 mins by car) for the large market town of Tolentino. Owned by a mosaic artist & family, Casa Mosaico is home to some wonderful handcrafted mosaic artworks making the interior of the house unique and interesting. The house has been updated during the last few years and manages to retain it's character with real terracota brick floors, exposed stone walls, handcrafted kitchen & beamed ceilings. Modern conveniences & spacious living all add to the enjoyment of one's stay at Casa Mosaico. The house and private pool (8x4 m) are situated overlooking a valley with sweeping views of the Sibillini mountains & nearby medieval hilltop towns. The mature garden full of olive and fruit trees, plants and herbs is a joy to relax in or explore. Casa Mosaico caters for both in & outdoor living and certainly makes for a memorable holiday in the rustic & cultural region of Le Marche.

Notes on prices
We are looking for a suitable party to rent Casa Mosaico on a longer term basis - from November 08 - March 09. Please enquire via email for further details and monthly rental terms.
Changeover day
Bookings are usually taken from Saturday to Saturday, however we will try to be as flexible as possible.
Arrival times from 4 pm (will try to be flexible but only if possible).
Departure time 10.00 am. (will try to be flexible but only if possible).

All bedroom windows have mosquito screens. Fans are also provided in each room.
Bedroom 1 with double bed (also ensuite to family bathroom).
Bedroom 2 with double bed and private balcony overlooking the garden and pool.

The utility room houses the washing machine, ironing board, iron, a sink & microwave oven. |

The large open plan dining room/kitchen is the heart of the house, the dining room table seats 8. The sitting room leads off of this room, complete with beams, antique floor tiles and wood burning fire place. TV with sky and DVD library. |

Bedlinen, table cloths, dish cloths, bathroom towels and pool towels are included. Mid stay clean, linen and towel change for bookings of 2 weeks or more. |
Notes on accommodation
The open plan kitchen/dining room is a great place to cook (if you feel inclined) and relax. We have a varied DVD and English reading library and internet access can be arranged with prior notice. Casa Mosaico has a private driveway, parking area and electric video entry gates to make your stay just a little more private. For families we can offer a cot, high chair, pram and even a bouncy chair (etc). Just email your requirements and we will try to help. The garden is a super area to explore but please supervise young children when playing in the garden or in/near the swimming pool. The house usual remains cool even in the summer due to the thick stone walls however, fans are provided in the bedrooms & windows can remain open as we have fly nets on all upstairs windows. Large supermarkets and restaurants are located in the market town of Tolentino (10mins away)or take a 10 min walk to the local shop for essentials. We provide a free 'start up' grocery pack for our guests on arrival.

Accessibility
Due to no downstairs bedroom regrettably we feel that Casa Mosaico is not be suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
The swimming pool is 8x4m with roman steps and has a unique handcrafted terracotta & river pebble surround. There are various places to sit in the garden & take in the mountain views - from the bench seating close to the pool & bbq to the wisteria strewn loggia overlooking the hill top town of Colmurano. The garden offers hidden paths and slopes to explore and has many olive and fruit trees sprinkled throughout the 2 acres. For family bookings we have a delightful wooden children's play house complete with slide nestled under the pine trees giving natural shade. The raised swimming pool area has been sectioned off to give parents greater piece of mind. However the pool depth is 1.30 m at the shallow end & we ask that children are supervised at all times. We offer 6 sun loungers/recliners & cushions, umbrellas x2, loggia dining table & chairs for 6 and casual wicker table & chairs. The garden is lit at night as is the pool making it perfect for those Italian summer evening barbecues.
Coast/Beach
Casa Mosaico is located approximately 35 minutes from Civitanova Marche, a thriving coastal town resort. Explore the Adriatic coastline and sample fabulous seafood in the numerous coastal restaurants. A particularly beautiful place is that of the Conero Riviera (50 mins by car). It is an area of outstanding natural beauty with a wealth of prehistoric sites.
Golf
Ancona 18 hole golf course. 50 mins by car.
Skiing
Skiing and snow boarding are available in the winter months just 40 mins drive from Casa Mosaico at the local skiing resort of Sassotetto.
Special interest holidays
Mosaic courses can be arranged for adults or children on site at Casa Mosaico by our very own professional mosaic artist. Taylor made courses can be arranged to suit your needs, for beginners to advanced - please enquire. At least two weeks prior notice is needed. Take away a special momento of your stay in Le Marche and make your very own mosaic piece!

Further details
The house is ideally located and one can reach small or large supermarkets by car in a short space of time. There is a handy local shop in Paterno located about 10 mins walk from the house - which is a nice walk with great views - also a good place to practice Italian! 'Jolly' the shop owner will be happy to help you with most essentials including Italian beer, wine and locally grown vegetables. For a bigger choice Tolentino has various supermarkets to choose from as well as local butchers and fish mongers. Banks, ATMS, post office, ice cream shops, cafes etc. can be found at the hilltop town of Colmurano, Tolentino or San Ginesio. More information regarding places to visit, local amenities, (A&E, Doctor, Chemists etc.) markets and local festas are given in our comprehensive visitors folder at the house.
Booking notes
10% discount given on bookings of two weeks or more if made before the end of May 08.
50% of total rental cost to secure a booking. 50% payable 8 weeks before rental date. Bookings made within 8 weeks of departure date must be paid in full at time of booking. Security deposit taken, full details given in our Terms and Conditions which can be emailed on request.
