Situated in a secluded, attractive valley amongst olive groves and vineyards with spectacular views. The house is built into the hillside and has been converted to offer two apartments both on ground level reached by terraced steps. Only 10 mins from the Superstrada for quick and easy reach of Assisi, Perugia, Siena, Cortona, Gubbio, Orvieto etc. Lake Trasimeno (15 mins) has many lidos, boat trips to the Islands, watersports.
There are many good, traditional Italian restaurants nearby, especially by the lake and in the surrounding hills. We will be in residence on the first floor of the farmhouse and will be very happy to give any help or information for the complete enjoyment of your holiday.

About the owner
Dennis was a professional footballer from 50's to 70's playing for Manchester United and City, Port Vale etc. When he stopped playing he went into the family fish business - opening his own fishmongers in 1980. Christine was a librarian, then married and joined Dennis working in the shop.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Having holidayed in Italy every year and travelling round with our car we fell in love with Umbria for several reasons - the weather, the friendliness of the people, the scenery, the history etc. Knowing Umbria is landlocked and wanting to be near water we chose this area because of Lake Trasimeno. Buying the house in 1991 as a holiday home, we decided we could create 2 apartments and live here ourselves. This was a bit of a gamble but we did this in 1994 and have no regrets. We soon discovered a pool was a necessity not a luxury so had one built in 1995.

Unique benefits of the property
We have so much to do and so much to still discover. Being in Central Italy and only 10 minutes from the superstrada means we can soon be on our way to anywhere (Rome, Florence, either coastline are about 2 hours away and Venice is just under 4 hours). The ultimate delight of wandering in Umbria is that the journey is never predictable, stepping off the beaten track finds deserted roads and unknown hilltop villages. We love Perugia, the lake and the many restaurants nearby but we still have our privacy and peace.
